Stunning little getaway
Stunning little lodge! So peaceful and beautiful views. Lodges were immaculate, spacious and comfortable. We had a little basket with hot chocolate, biscuits, crisps and some tea cakes on arrival which we weren't expecting so that was a nice little surprise. Tea, coffee and sugar also available. You can also request milk and orange juice free of charge which was another nice addition. The kitchen is fully equipped with hob, microwave, plates, bowls, cutlery etc and lots of local places will deliver takeaway. The hot tub was huge and nice and toasty. We will definitely return here.

Relaxing weekend
Great weekend in the Heather shepherds hut. The wood fired hot tub was so relaxing and the shepherds hut is in a very quiet location with no one overlooking.
All the facilities were excellent! Comfortable bed, great shower and fully equipped kitchen.

Exactly what we wanted
Went here with my girlfriend and we both loved it. Beautifully out together. Very charming. Hot tub was lively and toasty. Accommodation was very comfortable and just aht we wanted. Host was gracious and very quick to reply

Great wee overnight escape!
Absolutely loved our overnight in the Thistle lodge. Lovely welcome basket including crisps, water and hot chocolate on arrival, and Arran Aromatics toiletries included. The hot tub was great and would definitely recommend getting it pre-lit in advance, especially if you’re only staying for one night. Nicola made us feel very welcome. We’ll definitely be back ☺️

Poor customer service
We stayed here last year but only getting round to the review. On 1st impressions, we enjoyed this place. It was lovely & peaceful. Hot tub had been preheated so made it bliss. We stayed for a couple of nights. On the next day we found it difficult to see the wood fired hot tub to a reasonable temperature, even with following the instructions in the information book. It was either scolding hot or not warm enough.
The projector within the lodge didn't work great due to poor WiFi connection. The bed was really comfortable & kitchen was easy to use.
Our main issue is that once we left we had extra money charged from our card, when questioned it was stated that we had left the place in a mess. This is a downright lie! We even stripped all the bedding to make it quicker to collect for washing & put on the bathroom floor. There was also a claim that when we were opening the hut tub, we had damaged the velcro strap that held this together. We had had a lovely stay & this just left a real sour taste in our mouths. The extra money had been automatically taken from our card without pre-warning & it ended up being our word against the owners.
Lintmill Lodges was a lovely setting, but following this poor customer service, we would not return. This is a shame. I could have been harsh & rated lower due to this but as we had a pleasant experience until then, I think average is fair

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We do appreciate all feedback, although we were surprised to receive this some time after your stay – in November 2024.
We don’t recall receiving any complaints regarding the WiFi specifically. We attempted to help resolve a connection issue around 9pm on the 2nd night of your stay - this seemed to be with your devices compatibility with the projector, which unfortunately, was out with our control. When we didn’t hear back, we presumed this had been resolved?
Had we been made aware of any further issues at the time, we would have done everything we could to help and ensure you had the best possible experience.
Regarding the wood-fired hot tub, we provide guests with an extensive guide on how to use it, along with a video tutorial before arrival. We also make it very clear that we are always available by phone or text if anyone is having difficulty. On the rare occasion guests need additional assistance, we’re more than happy to help — but we can only do so if we’re made aware there’s an issue.
In relation to the damage concerns raised after your departure, I personally clean and inspect every lodge and hot tub before and after each guest checks out, so any changes or damage are identified immediately.
We’re also very disappointed to hear that you felt our customer service was inadequate, as this is something that is regularly highlighted positively in our many 5-star reviews and is something we take great pride in.
At the time of booking, all guests agree to our terms and conditions, which clearly explain our security deposit and damage policy. The reasons for retaining part of your deposit were explained privately via email at the time, We feel it would be inappropriate to discuss specific cleanliness and personal hygiene concerns on a public platform.
We’re pleased to hear you enjoyed the peaceful setting and found the lodge comfortable, and we’re sorry that your stay ended on a disappointing note. We wish you all the best.
