Great location everything on doorstep we will return.

A good 2 night stay, Breakfast was good, location was everything, it was literally round the corner from Paddington station with majority of tube lines to use, plenty of bars, cafes, shops, shopping centre and Paddington basin on the Grand Union Canal running alongside the station. Norfolk Square was a quiet area with greenery in the middle you would never know what was around the corner. One downside you could feel the trains rumbling underneath we were on the ground floor not sure if other floors above were the same, we got used to it and not sure if it stopped overnight as it didnt stop us getting to sleep. We will be back.

I was put on the 4th floor (5th in the US). From the 3rd to the 4th the steps on the stairway were extremely narrow and on the 4th going up no lighting until arrival. So be careful. Also I do not recommend this hotel in hot weather as we just had it in Europe. You could open the window, there was an electric fan and a small fridge. Still very hot.
The location was fabulous, a few blocks from Hyde Park. And close to Paddington.

Stay somewhere else that has drinking water from your sink tap

Location was good BUT I was staggered to find out (after I'd had a drink from my tap on a very very hot day) that the water was non-potable. They did not inform us at reception. The sign was not next to the tap in our room. We told our 90 year old father to have a good drink as soon as he got into his room after a morning of travelling. When I queried it a reception they really didn't know why it wasn't drinkable. The reception staff should be saying this to all guests upon arrival, and issuing you with a complimentary bottle of water at least. Yes there was a water station on the ground floor, but no cups to use. The room was also very very small. The double bed was right up against the wall. We knew there wasn't a lift but being up on the 3rd floor was a bit knackering to carry your suitcases up. And then breakfast (which was ok but nothing amazing) was down in the basement.

Good location for Paddington and Hyde park.
We realised that this was a budget hotel but it fell well below our expectations. We have stayed in similar priced hotels in this area but this is by far the worst.
Unhelpful, unwelcoming and unfriendly welcome by male receptionist on arrival to check in.
Very small room with tiny shower room which smelt of dodgy drains.
Awful breakfast for choice and quality. Only ‘cooked’ options were baked beans and scrambled eggs in a Pyrex bowl on the counter which were stone cold. Breakfast was 7.30 until 9.30. We were with friends and met for breakfast at 9.10. At 9.30 on the dot all the breakfast food was cleared away and at 9.40 despite still finishing our drinks, we were asked to leave so they could close the dining room.
It was not a friendly or relaxed environment and unfortunately I would not recommend booking this hotel.

Do not book

We booked this hotel realising that it was a budget hotel but unfortunately it fell well below our expectations. On the plus side it was well located for Hyde park where we were going to a concert and there are many cafes, bars and restaurants within close proximity. However sadly this was the only plus point.
When we arrived to check in, we were met with an unfriendly, unhelpful and disinterested male receptionist.
Our room was exceptionally small (which was not a major issue as we were not going to be in it that much), but there was literally no room to put anything and for some reason there was a small side table which was completely pointless as there was no room for it. We had to just put it in front on the door so we could get round the bed.
The tiny shower room had a very unpleasant drain smell to it.
Breakfast was 7.30 -9.30am and we got down at 9.10. The choice was extremely limited and the only ‘cooked’ they had was a Pyrex bowl of baked beans or scrambled eggs which were just left on the side and completely cold. Butter was not available, only cheap margarine.
We just had some toast and a croissant but at 9.30 exactly all the food was cleared away and although we were finishing our coffees at 9.40, we were asked to leave so they could shut the breakfast room.
I have stayed in other budget hotels in the Paddington area and this was by far the worse and I would not recommend.
