Breakfast was okay but nothing to write home about. We did find it odd that it wasn’t consistent from day to day what was served. The room was literally terrible. Way too hot and small. Was rented as a double private room but the bed was super small so it barely fit me and my wife. Staff tho was super kind and helpful.

Realistic for the price. One happy customer!
I am quite surprised by the negative reviews tbh. I stayed here with my husband, 7 and 9 year old and was pleasantly surprised. After reading the (many) negative reviews I must admit I was not keen on staying here. So here is my opinion.
At no time did I feel unsafe. There's a security gate and 24 hour staff on reception. No one tried to enter our room and we kept the door ajar all night for airflow.
The room and facilities are clean
Yes, it is very basic. We had a room with 2 bunk beds for the 4 of us. There wss nothing else in the roo. apart from a sink. No wardrobes or draws, not even any hooks. There are shared toilets and showers for men and women. Theywere clean and we had no issues with this.
The staff were friendly and helpful
The bus stop is right outside and the tube about 10-15 min walk. It really is barely any time to Waterloo which has a kids playparkand just about any amenity you could wish for.
The beds are not very comfortable,but having said that my husband was ok but I found them to be a bit hard. They have the hospital style mattresses. But I was happy to know they are more hygienic than the regular type.
My only gripe is that when we stayed it was 30oC so the room got really hot. However, we asked for a fan the second ond night and they provided one and also emptied the bin and gave our room a quick clean. Yes, it is very basic. But for the price we paid it is s well worth it. This means we come again and I definitely would re-visist.I really think that people need to balance the luxury with the cost and for us, it made total sense. Based on the price for central London I have rated this high. I would stay again and have no qualms in returning with my children

Okay but too warm in room
Stayed in a 4-person room during summer. Windows only open slightly so the heat was unbearable - I can honestly say that it was one of the worst nights sleep I had ever had. The second night was much cooler and I slept ok. As I was on the top bunk, the metal frame from the bed was blocking the plug sockets, meaning I was unable to charge my phone overnight. This was the same for the other bunk bed. I couldn't move the bed at all to make room for it. Luggage storage is available for an additional £8 - I think this should be included in the price personally.

Worst Stay Ever - Horrible Experience
From the moment I arrived, I didn't feel welcome. Check-in took almost 30 minutes because the receptionist was trying to figure out whether I had stayed there before. I still don't understand why that mattered, but I was left standing there waiting on a hot summer day with no explanation.
Things didn't get any better after that. The room was dirty, smelled bad, and looked like it hadn't even been fully finished. To make matters worse, there were bird droppings in the room. I've stayed in many places over the years, and I've never experienced anything like that.
I complained several times about the smell and other issues, including the fact that there wasn't even basic handwash in the bathroom. Every time I raised a concern, I was told it would be sorted, but nothing was ever done. It felt like nobody cared.
What really surprised me was that they didn't provide a towel as standard. When I asked for one, I was told it would cost an extra £5. Charging guests for something as basic as a towel is ridiculous.
The most disappointing part was the attitude of the staff. I interacted with staff members during the evening, night, and morning shifts, and not a single one seemed interested in helping guests. Everyone appeared completely disengaged, as if they had no motivation to be there. Whether it's a management issue or simply poor customer service, the result is the same: guests are made to feel like an inconvenience rather than welcome customers.
The whole stay felt poorly managed, unhygienic, and unprofessional. There was a complete lack of attention to guests and even the most basic standards of hospitality. I wouldn't stay here again, and I certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
