Steampunk weekend stay

Location very good. Close to castle; pubs and restaurants and a local shop and carparks as no parking on site
Communication from our host was very good. Lovely chap very friendly
I hate to have negatives but there are a few but I feel that maybe some of these are maybe in hand as he mentioned refurb taking place in the restaurant so it was closed. This was a real shame as reviews we had read prior to going had nothing but praise for the food and service and atmosphere
So entrance via a keypad to the right of the restaurant, entrance dated in need of decorations and new carpets,datesd and dirty
Our room number 3 was lovely, clean with modern furniture and decorated nicely. Small wardrobe but adequate for a couple of days. Woukd benefit from a coat hook on wall for wet long coates
Very modern bathroom with walk in shower. Love the draws under the sink. Handy for you make up and toiletry bags. Help keep clutter on sides down. Nice clean white towels. Hand wash on sink and shower gel in shower
Tea and coffee in room draw; clean kettle.cups too small, need to have 2 to get a regular cup.
Bed comfy, no pillow protectors and stains on actual pillows but cases very clean, as was rest of the bedding. Lovely original sach window and opens fully which is great as room very warm for us. Shame curtains let light in as too short for window. Price reasonable for Lincoln and locality. Would be stay again ? YES

don't stay at the bronze pig

I can't believe this establishment is asking for £100 a night for something that is exceptionally shabby. I am in a dispute with Booking and the property as I feel the property failed to deliver under the consumers rights act 2015.
The entrance was narrow and completely scuffed, and run down it was like entering a bedsit. It felt very strange. The room was shabby with random bits of odd furniture and the mattress was soft when I sat on the bed. I felt anxious being there. I was shattered from my travels. The host also told me there wasn't any breakfast included and wasn't very helpful in providing alternatives. I basically made a cup of tea and then searched on Booking again to find somewhere else to stay. It has cost me time and effort. This room was not value for money, it lacked atmosphere and services. He should be charging £60 a night not £100. I wished I'd read reviews properly before going but this place also runs as a restaurant so hard to find room reviews. Don't stay here

Wonderful hotel with fabulous service

We stayed here for the first time having visited Lincoln many times before. What an absolute gem of a place. Beautiful rooms, excellent service and perfect location. We could not fault our stay and will certainly stay here again. While we didn’t eat in the restaurant on this occasion the food looked delicious and we will book for next time. Would highly recommend.

Lovely evening with fantastic food.

Lovely place with knowledgeable staff. Food was fantastic (we had the 7 course tasting meal with wine flight).The service was also impeccable. Our server were knowledgeable without being pretentious, describing each course and wine pairing with passion. The pacing of the meal was flawless, allowing us to savor each dish and enjoy our conversation without feeling rushed.

if you’re booking the hotel for a good nights sleep, book elsewhere! Music until the middle of the night

Can’t say I’ll be staying here again in a hurry. It’s currently 23:15 in one of the hotel rooms, which I was first impressed by I have to say. However quickly humbled by loud music/singing from about 6pm onwards. What I didn’t expect was for it to still be going at almost midnight. It’s so loud that the room is actually vibrating. I have tried to ring down to the restaurant 4 times in the last hour to ask when I can expect for it to quieten down but there has been no answer. I would have appreciated a little warning about the noise so that I could have got some ear plugs, or better, booked elsewhere! Came to visit poorly family members so what is already a stressful time has been made worse by a stressful hotel stay. Thoroughly disappointed and won’t be booking again
