Rooms well equipped and spacious.
Staff efficient and friendly.
Train Station and a Tesco Express a few mins walk away.
Rooms had hairdryer, beverage facilities and complimentary water upon arrival.
Breakfast offered a good selection and staff were quick to clear used plates etc.
A pleasant bar on site with cosy seats and areas.
Shower was fixed to wall which was not to my liking but only a personal preference.
First time i had stayed at a Clayton and was quite impressed - clean and modern throughout.

2 Minutes From The M621 & 15 Minute Walk To The City Centre
Located 2 minutes from the M621 and a steady walking pace of 15 minutes to the heart of the city centre. The car park is underneath the hotel with 2 levels and spacious bays. You take a ticket from the barrier machine on entering and pay using the machines in reception on exiting the hotel. I arrived approximately 9pm on Friday 31st July and left 10am Sunday 2nd August and the cost was £14.00 for the parking.
Check in was very quick and efficient by the staff despite 2 coach loads of guests arriving. I waited literally minutes. I was allocated a room on the 3rd floor. You have to tap your keycard onto the doors to get to the lifts for security.
My room I booked online was a Standard King and Single Room priced at £77.50 a night.
On entering the room it felt dark with the decor and plenty of wood furniture. I would say dated and lacked a modern look compared to the Clayton Hotel Birmingham I have previously stayed in.
However, the room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. The bedding was very clean as were the towels and the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. The curtains were very good blackout curtains.
The room lacked air conditioning and a desk top fan was provided. I didn’t have the need to use this and instead the windows tilted slightly inwards giving a natural breeze. Except in the morning I smelt smoke as in a smoker. I discovered that smokers standing outside the entrance of the hotel were 3 floors beneath my room. I dread to think how that smelt for those on the 1st floor.
The shower was spacious, powerful and great temperature and both body wash and shampoo were provided in wall mounted bottles.
The room provided all the following amenities, iron, ironing board, mini safe, TV that was on top of the desk, open wardrobe with hangers.
There were soft drinks vending machines near the lifts for convenience.
The room above and adjacent to me were extremely noisy before I went to bed. So I was grateful when I stay in a hotel I always use a good quality ear plugs, so I had a perfectly undisturbed 2 nights sleep.
Would I stay again? For price and location yes. For appearance … I’m undecided.
