Not worth the money they are charging for

We stayed at the hotel as most of the hotels around Birmingham NEC were occupied and needed a place to stay .First experience it looks like a rundown place.external look as a first impression was unacceptable.We then went inside no air freshener in the corridor. We were not informed about the change of management and the hotel is going through refurbishment.The room allocated to us was on the first floor with no telephone in the room also no fire escape plan on the door bathroom door was hanging on angle no bathroom exhaust system,bathroom windows were broken cracked and some handles were broken and also mould on the corner of bathtub. Wallpaper pealing off the wall only one thing good was bed was made with fresh towels.bathroom was mouldy .no telephone in the room .Cracked flooring,bed also was sinking in the middle , cobwebs all around hanging from cleaning.Worn out carpet .Well there was TV but not antenna .the room looked like not dusted for ages and was locked for ages.definately not worth for money.
About the breakfast- we were served a plated full English breakfast.hashbrown were smelly and soggy looked like reheated and refried .The croissants were smelly and oily and smelling like metal tray smell.Baked Beans were tasting margarine,burnt filter coffee .only good was milk a bit cold.glasses for juices were sticky at the bottom.youghurts were not in ice bed so were of room temperature ️.Only toast and butter was good to eat.baccon was cooked well that was the only breakfast item worth eating.Staff arguing in the middle of the restaurant.

Awful, rundown and shabby.
Only redemption, the sfaff, despite the choas they tried. Martha was a real star, and deserves a better job

To start, it took nearly 2 hours from ordering to receiving our dinner, the only thing that is redeemable is how apologetic the staff were.
There was obviously some back of house crisis, when it finally did arrive, it was only how hungry we were that made us eat. Food was very poor.
Rooms shabby.
Tvs that didn't work.
Showers that didn't work.

Would not use again.

A very warm welcome upon arrival.Downhill from there!I was told that I would have to pay for parking at £8.00 per day.
I was told it would be free had I booked with the hotel direct!!!!!!
The room was pleasant but the bedsheets were stained and we requested that they be changed.
There was no phone in the room so it meant a trip to reception.
I then noticed that there was no fire escape plan in the room which of course is illegal.
On our last night the room had not been made up despite several visits to reception.
The hosekeeper arrived at 8.30 pm.No cleaning just new sheets and towels.
I am told that the hotel is under new managent but come on guys.....get your act together.

Considering how quiet the hotel was with only two bookings, there was one member of staff doinf multiple roles.
The room was like a furnace, no hair dryer in the room, the sink and bathtub had stains around the plughole, the water pressure was extremely poor, the shower door leaked water through which soaked the bathroom floor, the bed when you lift up the layers was dirty so never gets cleaned properly, just new sheets each time. The sheets smelt of chlorine. The TV massively lags, pillows rubbish. Very disappointing as it looked so nice online. Must be very old photos online!
