Don't stay Friday nights, go somewhere else.

Sadly this was going to be 4 star but things took a turn for the worse on Friday. The room is large, clean and the bathroom is well appointed. Location is about 15 minute walk from station with direct trains to Glasgow Central Station. Seemed ideal for us for a 3 night stay. The room is directly above pub and Friday night is Karaoke which is extremely loud and the bass notes vibrations can be felt. This goes on till 1am. The owner is aware of the effect on the guests but chooses not to do anything as can be found from others reviews. If the music stopped at 11pm that would suffice for most guests I would suggest. I write this whilst sitting in the room on Saturday night at 11pm and there is another karaoke whilst the people in the bar wait for Scotland's World Cup kick off at 2am. Looks like the next sleep I will have will be on the train home tomorrow. Maybe just bad timing but the pub does advertise other events.
UPDATE: The football finished which I was able to get some sleep through as it was not too loud, then the karaoke started up again until 4.30am, they had no care for any resident showing complete comtempt.

A nightmare from hell, avoid this place

I booked a room here as a stopover, to break my 10 hour journey home up and it was the biggest mistake that I have ever made. My stay was an absolute nightmare and the owners are not responding to my requests for a refund and Booking.com say that its nothing to do with them.
I hadn't realised that I was booking a room above a pub in a non residential area or that the pub had karaoke nights, but soon found out upon arrival.
The karaoke started at 7.30pm and went on until 12.30am, the music was so loud that I couldn't hear my TV with the volume turned up to full. That however wasn't the worst of it. Upon ending, other guests who had attended the karaoke then brought the party upstairs and had invited other participants, there sounded to be at least 20 inebriated revellers. For most of the night I could hear loud male voices directly outside my door and they were not above pounding on my door on numerous occasions for fun and presumably to intimidate. I felt trapped and frightened until 5.30 am when I made my escape, they was still partying at this point, but there hadn't been a male presence outside my door for some time.
I did try ringing the police, but they couldn't access the premises and advised that they could only reason with the party goers. The owners are obviously not on site and did not respond to my messages.
Stay there at your own peril!

A strangely located budget hotel; the room itself is good but location above a pub is awkward in the evening

Very disappointing stay
Cold unfriendly welcome
Nowhere to park
Tv did not work properly
Bed very hard and uncomfortable
And to top it all, no sleep due to the live music until 1am banging doors and shouting customers leaving the pub.
