Just simply outstanding!
This is one those places where you go and instantly as soon as you leave, know that it won't be the last time you visit.
The location is idyllic - a beautiful little village setting, yet somehow ample (and free!) parking directly across the road from the pub.
The staff were incredibly attentive, friendly and welcoming, both the early evening staff that greeted us, and the morning staff alike - superb.
A friend and I stayed overnight on the way down to visit Goodwood FOS, which is only around 30mins away from the Swan.
Our room was lovely - very spacious, air con (VERY welcome in 30 plus heat!) and well equipped.
The food on the night we arrived off the menu was beautifully cooked, piping hot and extremely reasonable given the rural location...the following morning, the quality continued with an excellent choice of pastries, cereals and fruits etc, in addition to having the choice of anything freshly cooked from the breakfast menu!
We will definately be booking to stay again next year, and cannot recommend this gorgeous pub enough!

A Wonderful Overnight Stay
I had a wonderful overnight stay at The Swan Inn. My room was spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. All members of staff were fantastic - friendly, highly efficient and professional. I had lunch, dinner and breakfast at The Swan Inn. All meals were wonderfully cooked using quality ingredients and were priced very reasonably.

Ideal Night Away
• This was a stopover on the way home from Dorset on March 7th 2026. The reviews, amenities & prices for the Swan had looked good, so I booked. I wasn't disappointed.
• Room was clean, well equipped and quiet, despite overlooking the main road. Bed was comfortable, heating was good and the shower was roomy & easy to use.
• Dinner was of good quality and very tasty. The beer (Tongham TEA) was well kept. The hot breakfast was excellent.
• Service was very good; friendly, polite and attentive without being obtrusive.
• My only criticism? The cold breakfast offering was no better than most English hotels; uninspiring.
OVERALL - An excellent place to stay with very good value for money.

Perfect coffee and cake in the garden.
Saw a sign outside saying coffee and cake. We went in and were served by a very friendly woman and had coffee and cake in the garden. Excellent coffee very indulgent chocolate cake. Perfect.

Perfect!
We used the Swan as a ‘halfway house’ from Norfolk to IOW ferry at Portsmouth.
It is in a prominent position in the village with a car park around the back or, one across the road, in front of the pub, we parked around the back.
On using the front entrance, we were straight into the bar. The young lady, sorry I didn’t get her name, was very pleasant and showed me to our room (8) which, is basically in the attic area, up three flights of stairs.
We had a small double but, it was perfect for an overnight stay. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom a good size with an excellent shower.
It was a Friday night and the bar had a great atmosphere but, not full.
We had the chicken and leek pie for dinner with mashed potatoes and greens, it was scrumptious.
Breakfast is taken in the bar area. There is a cereal selection and various cooked breakfasts. We both had the ‘Full Swan’ which, was substantial, hot and well cooked. You helped yourself to tea, coffee and toast, with the usual breakfast preserves.
If we are ever going that way again; the Swan will be at the top of the list, for a stopover.
