Just what we wanted, great choice…

Stayed close by on a glorious sunny Friday evening. Called in for drinks and food in the garden. Ordered three starters and a portion of chunky chips in a Tapas style!
Arrived in good time, hot and absolutely gorgeous - creamy mushrooms, spicy chicken in a cool, minty sauce and onion bhajis in a chilli sauce…….perfect

Avoid this awful place.

Good points
Beautiful building in idyllic location.
Nice gardens.
Lovely place to sit out on a warm summers day.
Clean bedding.
Good sized car park.
Refreshments and kettle in the room were fine.
Dreadfully neglected and grubby inside.
It didn't appear to have been decorated for many years.
Bar area carpet was filthy and covered in stains. Stair carpets were old, dirty and stained.
Breakfast room had a huge dreadfully stained rug in.
Breakfast was ok, full English was nice but very greasy and the eggs benedict came without hollandaise sauce, just smoked salmon and eggs. Cereals, fish fruit, yoghurt, tea coff, toast all fine.
Room 4 where we stayed...
The headboard was covered in brown carpet.
The windows were dirty.
There was black mould in the shower.
Bathroom wallpaper was hanging off the walls.
Holes in the bedroom ceiling where a new light had been fitted with a cable showing.
Stains on the bedroom wall.
The headboard was carpeted and stained.
Years worth of dust in the bathroom fan.
Years worth of dust in the radiator.
Uncomfortable cheap mattresses.
I mentioned some of the above to a nice lady who said she is the leaseholder .
This place could be absolutely amazing with some basic recoration and a new cleaning and housekeeping regime.
I wish them well in their endeavours to make improvements but will not be returning.

Never again

Well where do we start, so many issues! We’ve stayed over the years both as hotel guest and in our Motorhome… No complaints till we decided to visit again a few years later…. Booked in room2, the bed should have been put in a skip, no light shade, one tv behind another which were sat on the oldest rickety dusty drawers, curtains practically hanging off the rail, can’t begin to describe what was classed as beside drawers…Bathroom radiator was red hot and so worn we couldn’t adjust it, no hot water from shower……. Went to speak to a lovely member of staff who’s shoulders this fell upon,as after a phone call to his boss she couldn’t even take them time to come and rectify the situation. Got moved to room 3, no words with this either…. Thank goodnesss it was only one night.. This once beautiful Inn has lost in charm and character both inside and out…….

No very good service

We went down to tell the staff bout out TV because there no signal and said they be up to have a look no one came not happy bunny not good service Wii not come back here again

Should be fantastic

Just reiterating what others say about the place. Lovely location, beautiful historic building and grounds. Inside totally unloved with no respect for the building or guests at all. Shame really. Could be fantastic with the right care and attention. Not cheap for what you get either.
