The staff were very friendly and welcoming.
Really enjoyed my stay. I stay in many hotels every year for work and if all the hotels I stay in were like this one it would make my travelling for work much more enjoyable.

Disgusting dirty sheets and Owners who don't care

When we arrived, we were given a room that had not been changed or cleaned since the previous occupancy, which is a really gross thing to experience. We were then offered the Family Suite, and told (slightly ungraciously under the circumstances) that we could have this more expensive room at no extra cost. This Suite had multiple faults and deficiencies including a loose toilet connection, faulty toilet cistern, insufficient electrical power points and inadequate light switching. However, we discovered the worst of all when we went to bed - the bottom sheet was covered in multiple large filthy marks, which looked like dried blood. There was no one in authority that we could complain to so we later emailed The Ship to advise of this disgusting dirty condition. We had paid £121.55 for the night, which we know was overpriced for this location and type of property. This serious hygiene issue and our request for a reduction has been met with a complete wall of silence from the Management and the Owners. The Ship might have trendy mismatched furniture and cute signs but they don't have the first clue about customer service, accommodation provision or fundamental housekeeping management.

Perfectly cooked breakfast. Had the Mackerel and scrambled egg. Exceeded expectation. I would go their just to have this !

Very good stay in a lovely pub and hotel. Diner was very good, most of all the starters.
Breakfast was okay, could have been better with fresh pastries for example and options for cappuccino or latte.
Room was very spacious and well decorated. The only down side was that it was a bath only with no curtains and therefore water ended up everywhere.

It is a lovely old pub, lovely room, great food, helpful staff, loved it.
