An Unlikely Success

Well, a hotel located on an industrial estate doesn't conjure up a very exciting prospect.
But like Alnwick, this one just yards off the busy A41, works.
If you get a room on the side away from the main road it is blissfully quiet. Apart from the 'Elephants' who appeared to have booked the room above us (#202).
My wife commented, "this is the 1st time I have ever had Trees outside our Room!".
Continental Breakfast just fine and the Bar was open until 11.00pm. Helpful after a hard day looking after a relative just home after a major op.
A staff member was despatched to sort a very dirty Loo on the ground floor.

This place is dirty and disorganised

We stayed in room 119, we used a black light to check the room, the bathroom was disgusting and bodily fluids found on the chair in the bedroom. The reception staff member was not helpful, didn't ask if we have visiting before so didn't initially share with us any information we needed to know i.e. registering your vehicle for free parking, needing a room key to access the lift, timings for breakfast and dinner...we had to ask! Our parents found their room 210 was noisy, too close to the hallway door and again using the black light more bodily stains!
The only good thing about this hotel is its close to Warner Brothers Studios for the Harry Potter experience.

Hot room, with just a small fan

Parking was tight, reception seemed vacant but gave us room key.
Our room was boiling, when we arrived it read 32°c no air conditioning
Eventually dropped to 26°c by morning

30 degrees in room overnight

Reception staff were lovely but the room was hotter than hades. Zero sleep had despite the '360 fan', the room was 30 degrees overnight, windows can only open a crack so you just end up moving hot air around with fan.

Premier visit

A premier visit is normally pretty good, unexceptional maybe but you know what you’re getting. This time however we were down in the blazing heat (hotel rooms have no air con) and what could have been a really trying experience was made far better by super pleasant and accommodating staff. Who even brought me a surprise ice cream . So five star just for that
