Great little family-run hotel near NEC and airport

I recently stayed at the Tri-Star hotel while attending a conference at the NEC, and it was a very pleasant experience. It's a small, family-owned hotel in a great location (close to the airport and the NEC), yet surprisingly quiet despite the proximity to the airport.
The rooms are quite basic, but comfortable and clean. The bed was good, and the power shower (!) was excellent.
What really makes this hotel stand out, is the personal touch. You can tell it's family-run, the service feels warm, genuine and attentive. I had a few nice chats with Nigel, the owner. On quieter days he seems to run the place entirely on his own, and you can see the pride he takes in looking after his guests. It's the kind of personal attention you don't get in big chain hotels.
There's also a bus stop next to the hotel, with direct connections to the airport, the train station and the NEC. Going the other way, the bus takes you straight into Birmingham city centre.
