Nice independent hotel in rural location.
Staff super friendly, helpful and welcoming.
Had noisy neighbours unfortunately, who chatted loudly until 2am!

Itching scratching in bed.
This is an honest review of our experience we arrived late 10-30pm after a long driving day on first impressions the hotel is tired the room was clean carpets stained
we got to bed then the problems started we were in 2 seperate beds we both were scratching and itching went tonreception at 2am to tell them was offered another room and we declined as my thoughts were if this room is making us itch what difference would another room make looking at the rest of the hotel being grubby we left at 2-11am drive home 227 miles i adked for a refund was refused only offered another stay at £50 my view is why would i go back and give more money until hotel is refurbished fully no doubt as per other replies to similar comments regarding the state of hotel tbey will say it is under way !
i think leaving 3.5hours after arriving at this time if night says it sll.

I feel as though at one point this hotel would have been lovely.
It’s just been left to deteriorate over time.
Such a shame
The guy at the front desk was ok but lacked any kind of service capability.
1 plug in the whole room that was on the opposite side of the bed so had to be bought a massive extension lead which wasn’t hugely practical.
I was working from there for a few days and needed a plug for a phone, laptop and other things so this felt rather impracticable.
Wouldn’t stay there again for the £111 a night a paid.
It’s just been left to deteriorate over time.

Check in and check out was functional but not friendly.
Tired decor.
A group of students were staying, and as I parent I understand kids will be kids, but I did have to call reception to request intervention, which did happen, but sadly, this didn't resolve the situation, with a group of boys just outside my room window, and in the room door corridor.
As a lone female business traveller, this was intimidating and disruptive.

Parking was ok, i waited ages on arrival, over 10 mins, and i had to find a member of staff at the bar to help. literally no one was on reception at all. Once I checked in the toilet hadn't been cleaned properly. Not ideal.
The rooms were small and functional. They were ok.
I would say the hotel was on par with a premier in or holiday in style hotel.
The breakfast in the morning was nice, again a total lack of staff. I just felt the staff throughout the stay were practically non existent. I spoke with other guests who were their whilst their children attended a camp and they were not offered any additional support. I think that is super poor. It is a shame as it has the potential to be a nice place.
The tables outside were dirty and not just outdoor dust, they hadnt been cleared... it was just not a great impression...luckily i only stayed for 1 night!
