Spectacular.

Spectacular Onyx Suite, in the highest part of the hotel, with spectacular views, two balconies, freestanding bathtub, elevator between the living room area and the bedroom area… A true luxury. The hotel also has a gym, wellness area, massage services, parking… The buffet breakfast is extensive and varied, and very well attended. All the staff are pleasant and friendly.

Excellent location, clean room. But that's all I can say positive about this hotel. We arrived in town late on a rainy night and contacted UBER for a ride. Oddly, three different drivers did not move our direction or went another direction. Finally, we found a taxi and were driven somewhere on the north side of the square where we were informed taxis were not allowed in the area and were left in the middle of a dark street in the wiring rain. We walked to the hotel, unprepared for rain and arrived soaked. I asked about the prohibited taxis and was inform only some vehicles were allowed. I questioned why they would not disclose this on their website and was treated with disdain. A second woman arrived and literally laughed at us standing there soaked. This was followed by an undisclosed charge to our prepaid room. We went to our room and wanted to order room service, but it was not available, so we went to the restaurant at 9:20 and was told the menu in the room was not up to date and that they stop serving at 9:00 despite the published closing at 10:00. So once again it was back in the rain to try and locate some food, and we were not offered an umbrella. The tub had no shower curtain and was very slick. Worse yet, the side of the tub is nearly 30" high and the tub base is elevated about 12". If you're not agile, this is a disaster waiting to happen. Trying to wash with one hand and hold the spray with another is difficult and makes a mess. Stay here at your own peril.

A Charming Hotel with a Fantastic Location, but Some Areas Need Improvement

The hotel has a beautiful, classic style. The room was clean and tidy, and the housekeeping was perfectly fine. A nice little touch was the Lindt chocolate truffles left on the bedside tables on Thursday and Friday evening.
The breakfast and coffee were good, and the view over the main square was simply fantastic. Restaurants and pubs are also easily accessible on foot.
There are, however, a few things that could be improved. The ventilation and extraction system in the bathroom is rather outdated, particularly when it comes to removing moisture and unpleasant smells. The windows were also quite difficult to open and close.
Another issue was the 2,500 CZK deposit that was pre-authorised at check-in. I had not expected this, and as a result I incurred an additional currency-exchange loss, since this money was temporarily unavailable to me.
We also had a negative experience regarding a taxi. The BOLT taxi we had ordered ourselves was unable to drive directly in front of the hotel, so we asked the reception to arrange a taxi for us instead. The process was rather slow and complicated; we were initially told that it would take around 10 minutes. After about 4–5 minutes, the reception informed us that the taxi would arrive shortly.
Unfortunately, the taxi driver arranged by the hotel was not particularly honest or fair. When we arrived at our destination, he did not stop the meter immediately, so the fare increased from approximately 157 CZK to 167 CZK. He then charged 200 CZK to my card, despite the lower fare shown on the meter. He also asked for cash several times during the journey.
I found this particularly disappointing and inappropriate for a taxi arranged by a five-star hotel. It was even more unfortunate because, during our stay in Brno, we generally experienced very fair and honest treatment from the staff and service providers at the other places we visited.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay, especially the excellent location, the fantastic view and the classic atmosphere of the hotel. However, there are certainly a few areas where a five-star property could do better.

Good old school hotel in excellent location. The a/c could be better. A lot of bell ringing from the church in the neighborhood.

Had an amazing time while visiting the Czech Republic from the U.S. The Grandezza was great and the staff were amazing. Front desk gave me great recomendations for places to shop and eat. And the location was perfect to see all of the sights in Brno. A quick walk from the bus or train station. Live music right out front in the square, great cafes and restaurants all around. And the breakfast buffet was great as well.
