Reasonable price, great location

The Elegance Castle hotel had its best time maybe 20 years ago, when it was open. It is bit old, but still very good choice. The prices are very reasonable, especially that you get free breakfast and transport to the airport. The good adventage is also location. 15 minutes walk to Souq Waqif and Corniche Street. The staff also was very friendly and helpful.

Avoid this place if possible.

I was dumped here by my (former) employer after having a two long flights from the other side of the world. They picked me up from the airport which is a nice additional service from the hotel itself, check-in went smooth, room looked ok in first instance so, decided to try out the shower for a refresh. There is no proper warm water coming out of the shower, it's rather cold and the drain was blocked. Next was the bed, I'm not sure why they would give me two separate beds instead of a proper king sized bed as I was alone. It was rather hard and uncomfortable but, it does sleep when you didn't sleep for over 24 hours. The dinner was average, certainly not of good quality ingredients, there is some choice there. The breakfast was awful (certainly not for westerners) Wifi in the room was not worth connecting so slow it was. The room service was laughable as they could only bring you a glass of juice, no soft-drinks or a cold beer. The only positive from this hotel was probably the staff which was quite polite (probably they hardly see a European in their hotel) and their laundry service which was ok after I had to chase them to return my shirts. There aren't any business facilities in this hotel, no proper scanner, printer or whatsoever. Overall Conclusion, don't stay here as Westerner and leave it out of your head to go here with Ur wife. There's a few grocery shops on the other side of the street which can sober up you a bit with the misery from this hotel

Breakfast quality needs drastic improvement

Hotel location excellent! Rooms do NOT have tea/ coffee arrangement but there are nice tea shops very close by. Breakfast was cold (wax burners NOT switched on) , poor quality and needs drastic improvement. Only 1 person to serve and he is overloaded. Scrambled eggs and boiled eggs freezing cold- cereal not stored hygienically- fruits quality ( honeydew melon) poor. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. I had breakfast in the second day of my stay at the “CORNER CAFE” - got a plate of Dili and one dosa for 12 QR- excellent quality. PLEASE IMPROVE BREAKFAST IMMEDIATELY! Take this as a wake up call!!

Stop over

After being stranded in Doha for the best part of a day we booked into this hotel after it was recommended by the airport information desk. Room was filthy with thick mold in the shower and the bathroom was very smelly. Facilities also run down. Would not recommend and would never stay there again. Was offered free breakfast but didn’t take up the offer after seeing the level of hygiene in the rest of the hotel.

Basic, but ok

Hard to locate in a side street, our taxi driver got completely lost and had to stop three times to ask directions before we got there! The room was well appointed with all the usual amenities, but unfortunately had only been cleaned where it showed! A stash of cigarette butts was found under the bed and a high shelf had a thick layer of dust and a pair of discarded underpants. The dining room had an extensive international menu and service was friendly and efficient. The same could not be said for the front desk, where staff were unable to provide a map or any information on local tourist attractions.
