Beautiful, relaxing and wonderful hosts

I stayed 1 night with 3 rooms for my family as we attended a wedding near by. This place is gorgeous, very comfortable, quiet and the hosts were exceptionally nice. Lovely breakfast spread and service. The pool was very nice. The whole place is beautiful and peaceful. I will definitely return.

Could have been better.

Solar da Souva is a beautiful complex from the outside. Very impressive driveway. Friendly welcome where we got a bird's eye view of the history of the family and the house.
But unfortunately our stay was disappointing. And that it has three stars? The interior is faded glory. That in itself is not bad as the rest, read price-quality ratio but correct. And after eight years Portugal and many solars/quintas/casas further this was our least stay. The location was also very limited, on a dangerous thoroughfare.
Our beds, though beautiful imposing large, had hard mattresses and the bedding smelled musty. The room also smelled musty so we wanted to sleep in the night with the windows open, but then you heard the noise of that main road. The bathroom is small (max 5 square meters) there are no shelves or hooks to set up or hang anything on.
Breakfast was a simple buffet: butter and jam from plastic tubs, soft balls and brioches, juice and bowl of fresh fruit. The best thing was the large pool.

Great property to relax in with excellent pool

We stayed in the villa for 6 people for three nights and loved it. A really nice place to come back to and relax in after visiting the National Park and Braga. Very nice, well kept property surrounded by fruit trees and with a great pool. There is also a good local restaurant a short walk from the property. Very considerate and helpful manager (Celia) and staff.

A peaceful gem, great hospitality

This place is an absolute gem, located in the beautiful mountains of northern Portugal. A family-owned farm estate, lovingly renovated while retaining the authentic style, fully equipped and comfortable. Set amongst fruit trees and grapevines with a pristine pool and many shady terraces. Celia was the best host we've ever met, so warm, friendly, helpful & thoughtful. And as an added bonus, there's a lovely local restaurant Carias, only 20 metres down the road, serving traditional cuisine in a friendly, unpretentious setting. Wish we could have stayed longer than our 3 days. Totally relaxing.

Génial !

Superbe expérience, en remplacement d'une nuit en auberge de jeunesse surbookée !
Grand manoir cossu, chambre gigantesque, propre, cadre très agréable (jardin, orangers, vignes), grand piscine avec bains de soleil et hamacs, silencieux.
Les propriétaires sont très sympathiques, le petit déjeuner est goûteux.
Bref un excellent séjour.
