DO NOT STAY HERE!.
I would not recommend staying at Hotel Karter in Warsaw.
The experience started badly before we even arrived. I called the hotel to ask what time check-in was, and the receptionist simply hung up on me. When we arrived, the entrance stairs were in very poor condition and looked damaged and unsafe.
At reception, the staff member spoke very little English, making it extremely difficult to communicate or understand the check-in process. We had no idea what was being said and struggled to get checked in.
Once we finally received our room keys and entered the room, the condition was shocking. The walls were covered in dirt and marks, and there were visible water stains running down the wall next to one of the beds. The curtains appeared to have stains on them that looked like faeces, which was extremely unpleasant.
The bathroom was also in a poor state. The drawers were broken and dirty, and the toilet roll provided was already half used. The beds looked as though they had not been properly made before our arrival, leaving us questioning the overall cleanliness of the room.
To make matters worse, the surrounding neighbourhood felt very run-down and unwelcoming. The hotel is also much further from Warsaw city centre than we expected, making it inconvenient if you’re planning to spend most of your time sightseeing or exploring the city.
We were not expecting a five-star luxury hotel for the price we paid, and we understand that budget accommodation comes with more basic facilities. However, we do expect a room that is clean, well-maintained, and makes guests feel safe and comfortable. Unfortunately, this hotel failed to meet even those basic expectations.
The experience was so poor that we have decided not to stay and are currently on our way to a different hotel. If I were you, I would spend a little extra and book somewhere else. The extra cost will likely be worth it for a cleaner room, better customer service, and a much more comfortable stay.
Overall, this has been an awful experience from start to finish, and I would not stay here again.

Bad!
terrible hotel. mold on the walls, the ventilation does not work, the plugs are rotten, there are not even spoons for coffee, there is no hair dryer. 7am, someone tried to break into the room while we were sleeping (tried to unlock) lucky we were in the room because we had valuables.

They are trying to withdraw money from your credit card. I was threatened. I've traveled 17 countries and this is the first time I've encountered something like this. If you book here, you might get in trouble.

Rather disappointed
I had booked 2 nights at the Hotel, Sadly on my arrival in Warsaw I contacted the hotel to get information as to which was the nearest point to the hotel by public transport. I was informed that the owner / staff have no idea as they never use public transport, As a result I made alternative arrangements for accommodation. Subsequently the required information was added to the Booking.com website. Too late for me.
What was disappointing was the attitude - "we are cheap so don't expect us to be helpful". This is almost a word for word quote!
By the way the Salomea Metro station is the closest to the hotel - 10 min. walk.

Hotel is adequate
We were assigned a room on the second floor (up one flight of stairs), after the woman (owner?) checking us in looked at us, looked at her list, hemmed and hawed, looked at us again.
We had booked a large twin room, and looking at photos on the booking site, I don’t think we got a large twin room, we got a small twin room.
Though small, the room was adequate with ceramic floors, a table with 2 chairs, very narrow twin beds (about 80 cm) and quite clean.
Walls were paper thin and we heard people struggling to plug things in the bathroom next to ours. Also there were groups of travelers arriving and chatting and enjoying life. That is a great thing but the fact that we could hear everything wasn’t the greatest. No real problem with the planes that fly directly overhead as they slow down as it gets dark.
There was no cleaning at all in the room from one day to the next and the garbage isn’t even removed.
Breakfast was reasonably good. Crepes with cream cheese were tasty. Scrambled eggs, tang juice, instant coffee, buns, jam butter, cold meats and cheeses. Same woman (owner?) was much more pleasant this morning.
No city map available from reception and we were grateful to have purchased a SIM card and used GPS on the phone to find our way to the tram station. The hotel is a fair distance from downtown but we didn’t find it difficult (though probably 800 m to 1 km to tram station), using transit was easy.
Can’t see staying here again.
