Great stay from beginning to end!

Can't speak highly enough of this gem! From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and that our patronage was appreciated. We arrived early, but our room was ready and we were given not only early check-in but a complimentary upgrade. The room was nothing short of spectacular, I don't think I've ever slept in a bigger, more comfortable bed!
Throughout the course of our stay we dined at all four of Hotel XYZ's food outlets. The standout for me was the rooftop Japanese bar, Xake. We were also very impressed with FYZZ gastrobar, although one minor complaint from me is that I found the music to be a little too loud (just a personal thing there, and certainly wasn't a dealbreaker).
Breakfast offerings are genuinely some of the best I have ever had, anywhere, in any hotel. I tried something new every day I was there and was always impressed with what I got. My two favourites would have to be the waffles served with Hungarian sausage, and the wonton noodle soup breakfast.
Location was amazing, you are right in the city centre at XYZ, close enough to walk anywhere you need to go. We only needed to ride a tricycle a couple of times. Everything else was well within walking distance. The hotel's facilities are also lovely, we spent a few hours relaxing at the rooftop pool, the view up there is amazing especially in the evening, and we also took some time to get a massage in. Make sure you book ahead for your massage as they get quite busy, but it is so worth it!
I'd like to give the biggest shoutout to Jerrick the manager who went above and beyond to make our stay memorable, even coming out to greet us and introduce himself, these are the kinds of personal touches that keep me coming back to a hotel again and again, and I can say with confidence I will absolutely be returning to Hotel XYZ :)

XYZ Hotel... Almost great if it wasn't for really bad Internet service

XYZ Hotel - Tacloban - ⭐⭐⭐⭐ - (stay May 2026) - VERY POOR internet service. Room is good with comfortable beds. Pool area is nice.  Food is very good at the restaurants.  (3 restaurants, a coffee shop ☕ and ice cream ) The official website is outdated.  Location is good. Best place to stay in Tacloban.  They would have got 5 stars if it wasn't for the bad Internet service. Internet is critical in today's world... Life doesn't stop just because I am at a hotel with really bad Internet service.

The room was not as i paid for!!! Terrible room ,dyrty room,i was paying for fantastisk deluxe suite features one big bathroom,big bedroom,but got one small bathroom and small shower,old bed ,one word terrible, resepsjon was rude,if your a foreign dont pay anything else then for a dobbel room.god bless this people!!!?? Hufff why ??????

Poor customer service and maintenance

No available parking upon check-in, refused to arrange dining table with friends at their 9th floor lounge, arrived tired at midnight from day trip but surprised to see aircon leaked and water all over the floor (thank goodness my open luggage was moved by my husband before we left that day) kitchen staff at breakfast told us cannot re-fill anymore at 0830 when breakfast is till 10am. Would not recommend staying here. Very tight hallways and mauntenance upkeep is very poor. The only thing that we liked is the food hence 2 stars for it.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional Care: Sourced flowers from miles away and helped every second!

Hotel XYZ has some of the friendliest staff I have ever met from my travels around the world. I am a US citizen married to a Filipina. We decide to take a vacation and my wife suggested XYZ and I am glade she did! Róse and Archy both helped me from thousands of miles away setting up the special occasion for my wife! They used WhatsApp to communicate effectively with me in a timely manner. I even could trust Róse and Archy with picking up flowers on my behalf with no assumption of being scammed or let down. They even upgraded the room with a tub for free!!! Róse made sure me and my Asawa were taken care of every step of the way. Even when a storm in Daram, Samar where my wife and family lives tried to stop our vacation. XYZ and Róse were kind enough to understand and allow me to reserve another day if we needed to! So if you ever visit XYZ Hotel in Tacloban say hello to the best employees Róse and Archy!
