Great week

Just had a great week at Punta Punta. We were there with an organised week long retreat with ‘Soulful Women’s Surf’. The facilities were amazing, with only 8 rooms to it is nice and intimate. Being right on the water it is so great to wake up to each morning. The staff and the perfect level of fun and professional. It is super easy to go surfing in the morning with boats picking you up from the beach when organised. Getting into town is easy with a tricycle. All round it was the perfect week.

CAUTION - BAD ETHICS CAMP SITE, DO NOT RENT THE VILLA - ITS FRAUD

The worst experience one can imagine for a vacation arrival. This property failed to provide the necessity. There was no electricity, water, not to mention AC or WIFI on the evening of check-in. The entire property had a black out, no staff was around, it was pitch black and pouring rain (no emergency light or a candle in the villa). The living room was leaking rain, we felt unsafe and could not sleep. The owner was on vacation with bad receiption and said this is a recurring problem for a few months, but we spoke to the hotels where we stayed previous nights in General Luna and Malinao, they all have power generator back-up to avoid total shut-down.
In this extreme circumstance, we had to immediately book another accommodation for the next 3 nights. The owner first agreed to refund us. He changes his mind the second day, said he cannot refund us for only one night of problems, that we cannot cancel the next nights. "I am running a business, it is about money." He said.
It was impossible to argue with the owner, he repeats about his 9.0 points on booking.com. He had no consideration for guests' comfort, safety. The fundamental fault is - you can't expect your guests who pays 250 Euros per night for a villa to live in a camping situation!
We received zero refund or any compensation from this hotel, we departed in morning at 9am.
It was unacceptable we question the basic credibility of the property.
Also a note the villa was very dirty, the glasses are full of stains, the power came back in the morning but no water. The kitchen was closed at 6pm while we were told the last order is at 7pm. The hotel did not check passports for check-in, and the staff even forgot to give us the key and the safe keys to the villa.
This property has four tents (50-80 Euros) and one villa (250 Euros), the conditions are the same.

Best spot for a relaxing vacation!

This is a magical place that combines the beauty of Siargao island and the home-like feel of a glamping space that makes all the difference. Run by Eze and Gina, a beautiful couple, Punta Punta Surf Retreat is indeed a piece of heaven on earth. There's all you need - a staggering view of the ocean and the islands across, comfortable and cozy accommodation with attention to detail and a private bathroom with a tropical garden inside! :) We stayed in one of the tents and had the most relaxing vacation. The tent and the bathroom were cleaned daily, the staff were very welcoming and responsive to all our needs and queries. Also, the food at the bar was quite delicious and catered to every taste. Eze and Gina helped us quickly find our way on the island and advised us on the good spots for surfing, beaching and dining (surfing lessons were also provided upon demand :) They also invited us to a pizza party by the pool which made us feel part of their extensive family of friends! We really felt at home in a place thousands of miles away from our home country and came to love Punta Punta as you could tell Eze and Gina as well as their truly amazing staff had put their heart and soul into it. Thank you for the warm welcome and the perfect service! We'll definitely be back!

We had a fabulous stay

We stayed in Punta Punta Surf from Sept 30 to Oct 8 and rented their glamping tent. The view is amazing, the staff are polite and very helpful. The owner, Ezekiel, was even generous enough to let us have a quick civil wedding in their beachfront. Here are a few things that may help you:
* Their cafe is closed since there were only a few tourists during our stay. Their staff told us that we can preorder breakfast from them if we want to. You can also bring food inside the glamping tent.
* No restaurants or eateries within walking distance but there are a few sari sari sari stores ( very small convenience store set up in front of a local's house.)
* Locals consider Punta Punta Surf far. It is only approximately 20 to 30 mins to Tourism Road where mosts of the stores, eating places etc are located. To save money on transportation you may want to rent a bike. You can also make an arrangement with a tricycle driver so you can call/txt whenever you want to go to Tourism Road.
* Google is not updated. There is a newly built bridge connecting Punta Punta to Cloud 9 and tourism road. As of this writing, google shows it takes approximately 48 minutes to reach. This is not true, its within walking distance now. If you ride a bike it will just take around 5 minutes.
* No electric kettle inside the glamping tent. We love drinking coffee and the manager was gracious enough to lend us his for the meantime.
*Siargao is humid and glamping tents only have a ceiling fan. This was fine with us since we are just right in front of the beach and the breeze comes into the tent.
* They have 2 clingy cats. They are cute and sweet and wanted to stay with us inside the tent. Some people, especially those who are allergic, may not like that.

UNFAIR AND POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

‼️WE DON’T RECOMMEND ANYONE TO BOOK THEIR STAY AT THIS PUNTA PUNTA HOTEL! Don’t get fooled by their pictures. The management just stole my family’s P37,000 fully paid-in-advance booking. Without even allowing us to rebook. WE DIDN’t EVEN ASK FOR A REFUND OR CANCELLATION.❗️ ALL WE WANTED WAS TO REBOOK TO A DATE WHEN QUARANTINE MEASURES WOULD EASE. Ofc we understood that this is out of our control since this is the government’s call. But the fact that we have already BOUGHT OUR TICKETS, HAD OUR RT-PCR TEST AND PAID THE HOTEL IN ADVANCE, they wouldn’t even allow us to rebook?! People here are working hard to earn money for their families, to have vacations. AND HERE YOU ARE JUST STEALING THE HARD EARNED MONEY. HAYST.
