Enjoyable three night stay in a great neighborhood
There are a number of great things about this property. The hotel is in a fantastic neighborhood and easily walkable to many shops and restaurants. Our spacious room had a wonderful view, an exceptionally comfy bed, a huge bathroom with a terrific shower, and was very quiet. The rooftop pool was nice (although stray paragliders can swoop in quite close) and the gym was terrific: lots of Technogym cardio, kinesis and weight training gear. The staff were all friendly and helpful.
The hotel feels shiny and new, with a couple personal quibbles: our toilet kept getting stuck with the water running, and while everything in our room was well-cleaned on a day-to-day basis, there was already a little mold and mildew in the shower. Hopefully maintenance will keep the entire property looking as good a few years from now. Our room was very, very humid and the room temperature was consistently colder than we wanted (something tells us these things are related!) but we were in the “donkey belly” months of Lima and of course right next to the ocean – so perhaps there is just no way of getting around this at that time of year.
The breakfast buffet was vast and varied (plenty of healthy options – yay!), and if you got down there early or during a lull, you could conceivably get a latte or your eggs to order right away…if there are tons of people, you could definitely be waiting a long time while the staff try valiantly to rise about the chaos. We had access to the club level but thought that, between the busted coffee machine one morning and the very short window for evening wine and snacks, it was pretty lame.
But, all in all, we enjoyed our stay at the InterContinental .

An exceptional stay from beginning to end
The highlight of our stay was the outstanding staff. Everyone was warm, professional, and genuinely committed to providing excellent service. Breakfast was also excellent, with a wide variety of fresh, high-quality options.
We highly recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to stay here again on our next visit to Lima.
