AMAZING VALUE, LOCATION AND FOOD!!

I stayed in an all female dorm room- as a mature traveler it has been the first time in many years. It was super comfortable, safe with lockers and the best hot and powerful shower I had for a week traveling. PLUS the best part is the amazing free breakfast you get every morning with a choice of 4 options, coffee and fresh juice. Plus the italian food at the restaurant is great and they do not charge any extra fees at the hotel or restaurant when using your credit card which is a bonus. It overlooks the lagoon and it only cost me $13 a night which was a steal!!

I didn't enjoy one bit staying at this place.

One of the worst hotels I stayed in. Old building. No AC. The room is like a dungeon - room temp was at least 10 - 15 degrees higher than outside. 2 fans in the room couldn't cool it. Tiny window in the bathroom sealed shut, it was already smelling when I checked in. Romm rates quoted in US $, but the hotel insisted on charging in Soles saying their system can not process charges in USD. Rooms were dusty and sandy as if it wasn't swept or mopped.

Don't recommend it!

We stayed in a private room.
The sand was everywhere,on the beds sheet, in the bathroom,like no one was cleaning there for a while. I do understand that it's a desert but a small clean up before the guests wouldn't harm anybody.
At the end we slept inside our bed liners.
The general overview of the room was very bad. Photos included.
We stayed in many hostels in Peru but that was the worst. Looks like the owners don't care about anything else than the money coming from the tourists. For that price for a night I was expecting something better.
Go somewhere else !

Nice, basic place with great restaurant, but loud

We stayed in a family room which was clean and a good size. It's quite basic though. The common facilities seemed nice, clean and calm. We really enjoyed the restuarant and the staff are friendly. My big complaint is the noise. The music from surrounding places are loud and we weren't able to get much sleep. Our last night was a Tuesday and the music went until 6am. It's a shame.

Very chill vibe

Wild Olive offers a very chill vibe so this isn't a party/social hostel. I would recommend this if you're needing some recoop time or traveling in a group of three or more. The food at the adjoined restaurant was really good though moderately priced. The showers were decent as well as the dorms. The only common area they have is a room with a couple of couches and a wall mounted television that offers Netflix. However, this is in Huacachina so you'll be wanting to rest as much as you can before and after traversing the sand dunes and this is the place to do it!
