Upgraded to a 4 star hotel....

It is a 4-star hotel located between the historic center and the airport.
On arrival, and worrying that the front facing the street, the receptionist tells me I have upgraded for 5 nights spent in this establishment.
The bedroom is large and bright and has a small living room. 
There is a courtesy tray, but no bottle of water.
The windows overlook the street and the whole beautiful town of Cusco nestled in the mountains.
 The bathroom has shower gel, shampoo, soaps, but no toothbrush, razor and tissues, or body lotion.
 Breakfast served on request and very hearty.
 All staff crossed and smiling, always looking to help you and speaking English.
 All nights were quiet except for the fact that this hotel is 3,850 m above sea level and I was suffering from mountain sickness.

Vacation from HELL!! RIP OFF! 2 TWIN beds for 3 ADULTS, 0 FREE Full Breakfasts= 21 & 0 Hot water!!

Traded 8 person- 2 bedroom San Diego Hyatt Vacation club w/ 2 Bedroom -King bed, 2 full beds, hid-a-bed couch, Full kitchen, dining room, & living room w/ FREE pools, water slides, gyms, volleyball, tennis & pickle ball for 1 STAR Wayqey Peru Motel 6 room. Austere Peru room had 2 TWIN beds for 3 Adults!!! We were told at Check-in we needed to pay $50 MORE & 0 FREE FULL Breakfasts= 21, as Advertised were included We got 0 Hot water & a leaky toilet. Husband & I are over 60+ yrs old sleeping on a Twin!! He got leg cramps on both legs & I fell out of bed, while turning over!! Not even room for a chair in the room. Welcome to Our Family Christmas Peru Vacation from HELL! Wayqey Played Grinch this Christmas! They should be ASHAMED of themselves!

Great experience.

Nice, clean and comfortable hotel. A little far from the Center but can be reached on foot. Special mention for Miss. Cristina, from Reception and also for her classmates. Cristina solved me a subject very diligently and is super friendly. A TEN.

Property with potential, but lots of room for improvement

Positives: The property has a nice lobby, and the corner rooms ending in 01 are spacious with a separate living room area, microwave, fridge, coffee machine. It was nice to have some extra space. The front desk attendat Christina is a GEM. She was always willing to give recommendations for dining & sights to see, she always had a smile on her face & remembered guests by name... she recalled my husband by name & acknowledged his birthday. The hotel also put a sweet note & small amenity in the room for my husband's birthday.
The downsides: there was (is) a large coffee stain on the wall outside the main floor elevator that never got cleaned. Sound carries in the corridors into lobby. The very small safe is not secured to anything... so you can lock up your stuff but someone could just walk away with it if they wished. I put a "do not distrub sign" on our door AND told front desk who made notes. Came back from a tour to find someone in our room... was not pleased. 6 of us chose to eat dinner at the property one night... and everything from start to finish was not good. The front desk girl (NOT Christina) was also expected to do meal prep/serve. We ordered drinks that never came until meals did. Meals came out one by one by one... so we could not eat together. The food was NOT good. Also, we came back from an excursion one day at 5pm & our group was locked out of the hotel for 15 minutes. We knocked, rang the doorbell, called... finally someone came.
There is potential, but definitely improvements need to be made.

Wayquey Hotel Experience

Seguey was incredibly helpful and is an excellent front desk person. He helped serve dinner, solved problems for us and was really thoughtful and supported or family. Wayquey Hotel is a very nice establishment and can use many more like Seguey.
