Luxury is far from here

Ants are a terrible problem. They were everywhere. Little was done about it. No air conditioning, no teaspoons and no toaster available. For a so-called luxury house it really wasn't that luxurious. In any case, we will not be coming back.

Change of food does more food but not necessarily more ordering

We have known the accommodation for years. Some adjustments were made recently. Certainly the shower at the beach is a nice asset although the option to only shower cold is literally and figuratively a cold shower (even via solar water heater warmer more bearable temperature water can be provided - it is freezing cold). The drinks through the beach bar are pricey.. we got for the (summary menu) cocktail a cup FULL of ice with a little drink (in two small sips the cup was empty, for the rest it was waiting for the ice to be converted into (expensive) water. This could certainly be better and we feel a bit cheated, frankly. The quality of the water is not what it used to be. The water smelled like sewer!! This was always very clean and bright before. Do the cottages end up in the pool these days? We did get that impression.. (unlike previous years). It was also no longer possible to reserve a cabana by telephone. In the past you could book a half or full day (20 or 40€), but we were directed to the website.. where only a full day (40€) can be booked. The menu has also been changed. Well presented and very nice and tasty, but the main courses are rather a starter in terms of portion and you have to mix and match if you have exercised a day to eat enough. It remains wonderfully relaxing - but this time with caveats.

No door for toilet

We stayed with four couples in Villa 181 at Oesterdam Resort. Unfortunately our stay was very disappointing.
The first problem was that on arrival we only got one key for eight people. That made it very impractical, because you depend on each other to get into the villa or your bedroom.
However, the biggest problem was the bathroom. There's no door between the bathroom and the bedroom. This allows you to hear, smell and even see everything when your partner or roommate is in the toilet. That ensures no privacy at all and is, especially for a luxury villa, really unacceptable.
For the price you pay, we expected much more comfort and privacy. We would therefore absolutely not recommend this villa. Save yourself the disappointment and book another accommodation.

Ants and heat

Maybe start thinking about placing air conditioning.
What bothers us most is that there are a huge number of ants inside is easy to solve the holes where they come out. And that's the pity about it You pay so much money
