A wonderful weekend, unfortunately shortened by illness in a beautiful hotel-restaurant in a beautiful and very old town.

Just a weekend away, we had a good experience in Ootmarsum so now to another, beautiful and old location, the Golden Lion in Bronkhorst.
And yes, what a special town and what a beautiful Inn!
Great food, a soothing, authentic environment!
Our first night in also a spacious bedroom in an annex on a quiet street.
Everything was fine until I got sick.
So the next day unfortunately home.
The "Golden Lion" has paid back the day / night overpayment neatly within their possibilities.

Cozy hotel and great food.

Good hotel , nice clean rooms and excellent beds.
Restaurant is very good, surprise menu to recommend. Will definitely be back

Dramatic

Had a very nasty experience here. I was put in some sort of annex, so I didn't stay in the hotel itself. The employee made me walk alone to the outbuilding in the dark and found the room, could not be found. Pitch black. I walk back again, can't find it. He walks with me this time and grabs my new, expensive suitcase from SUIT SUIT. He lifts the suitcase with the handle still up (not very handy) and dropped my suitcase on the stone ground. Scratches in my new suitcase. Was told afterwards that this had not happened (just lying) and was not entitled to compensation. Suitcase broken, no understanding, scary, dark location. I booked a hotel under false pretenses, thinking I can sleep in the hotel itself. It was also very difficult to open and close the door to the balcony / terrace, I had to call again. Was a truly dramatic experience!

Very poor price quality , replace products with cheap alternative. Absolutely not recommended

6 course menu for 88 € excl drink mwa let's try it ...
The service was utterly worthless the scallops had been replaced by cheap prawns tasting like amonia, the waiter also early tasted the scallops... which ones? No response....the rest of the gaits were absolutely below par except for the deer back but it was so small that there was more of a re-puncture. In summary 45 euros too expensive and qualitatively not special.

OK but not particularly

Christmas lunch was OK but not special. Service adequate but lacklustre, not feeling like they were trying to make it something extra fun. Location and ambiance top.
