Insect bites during stay
Unfortunately, during my stay, I experienced multiple insect bites on exposed areas of my body, which caused significant itching and discomfort.
I raised this issue at check-out and later followed up by email, including photos of both the bites and the condition of the mattress cover.
I understand that situations like this can occasionally happen, but I believe that hygiene standards and attention to guest concerns are extremely important. In this case, the experience was not in line with those expectations.
I appreciate that corrective measures were reportedly taken afterwards, and I hope this helps prevent similar situations for future guests.

Poor value for money.
Particularly disturbing was the location of the room directly next to the laundry room. It seems that a filter in the washing machine was not changed, which caused an alarm to go off four times during the night. No one from the staff felt responsible, so we had to go to the laundry room in our pajamas multiple times to turn off the machine ourselves.
There was also a serious issue with data protection: For the pre-check-in, we were mistakenly sent a link to book for someone else. As a result, we were able to view this person's personal data.
The only positive aspects are the cleanliness and the central location.
For this price, there are definitely better hotels in Amsterdam.

At the same time, there are some improvements that would enhance the experience even further. It would be desirable for the staff to remind guests at check-in more clearly that it should be quiet after a certain time (for example 10:00 PM-7:00 AM, in consideration of guests who are sleeping. Also add information signs, for example in the bathrooms, would also have been good as some guests pack, shower and get ready in the middle of the night, which can disturb others. Since during my six-night stay I woke up three of the nights (multiple time per night) due to noise from other guests in the middle of the night, who chose to pack, shower and use a hairdryer before they headed tobthe airport, which affects the overall impression. Not the staff or hostel fault, information signs would be good
Another improvement would have been to replace the ceiling lighting with more discreet lighting solutions, such as dim wall lamps that turn on in the evening. Currently, many people are woken up by ceiling lighting when someone moves in the room during the night. In summary, it is a nice and well-functioning hostel, but with a few simple adjustments the comfort for guests could be even better.
