Excellent
OMG I loved this hotel! I would 100% go back. First of all, is its location. You could not get better. Within seconds you were at bars, restaurants and shops. The train station is only an 8 minute walk away. And a flat easy walk if you have a suitcase to push.
Reception staff are very friendly and speak perfectly good English.
I had a double room to myself and it was lovely and clean and had adequate space. The bathroom had a large walk in shower with the toilet and a large sink. You got a few complementary miniatures, such as shoe polish, cotton buds and a sewing kit. Shower gel and shampoo and conditioners were also supplied. You got towels and a hair drier. And then best bit was you had a fridge to use. (Hidden away in the table under a large TV).
Views not amazing. But who cares. Room was excellent and quiet.
On the landing of your room was a vending machine for drinks and snacks and a free to use ice machine and plastic cups. Perfect for a very hot day!
The breakfast buffet was brilliant, hot and so much selection.
I can’t comment on dinner as I did not eat there.
That said - Five Bells, the restaurant next door to the hotel is well worth a visit !
All in all 10/10.

Cleaning of the room was very inconsistent, some days you got toilet roll some days you didn’t. One day we didn’t get any teabags or coffee. I phoned reception and was asked to come and get the coffee, I explained I’d been at the GP all day and was exhausted so could it be delivered. They would only deliver with a charge!

You couldn’t ask for a better location in the heart of Amsterdam. The staff were friendly and the room was clean and large. Bedding was A+. I would definitely stay here again

Cut backs ?
I have stayed at this hotel on and off for the past 20 years. Why 4* not 5? well it would have got 5* if they would have allowed a later checkout which they could at a cost of €20 per hour. A non chargeable later checkout has never been an issue before, it’s not the Receptionist fault just the hotels policy which now has zero flexibility. Shampoo regardless of a previous review stated is not supplied (It used to be before the cut backs) I even asked at reception just to see what they’d say and it was a no so in my humble opinion it’s a bl**dy joke considering the crazy room rates !!

Perfect location, friendly staff, very good breakfast. Only was that bed was not comfortable and room airconditioning was now working perfectly.
