Perfect for short stays

The location was great a ten minute walk to the bottom of the city and a five minute walk to the tram stop which takes you to up to the Amsterdam central .
The atmosphere was very chilled and welcoming it was never overly busy so the staff were always happy to help and it felt very homely
Our room was good the shower and water pressure was great , our window view was quite stiff to open but we opened it eventually which was great. We were supplied with different teas and coffee which were replenished daily
For a cheap trip it’s great you get everything you need and it’s very well connected with transport and walking routes . Nearby there was a convenience shop as well a Lidl and a pharmacy all within a 10 minute walk
It was pretty clean with a few dusty parts but nothing you couldn’t just brush off
Overall we found it a great stay and would love to visit again

Great location at Espresso!

Just back from four nights here and have to say it was a brilliant location for our stay. We were in very easy walking distance of a supermarket, local cafes, the foodhallen, the museums, canal cruises, and the vibrant Leidsplein area. We used trams 2, 17 and 24 very easily. The room was basic and the shower was like a watering can, but I knew that when I booked it. There was showergel and handwash provided, towels, a hairdryer, kettle, safe, air con unit, and two glasses with coffee/creamer/sugar. The TV was poor, but we weren't in the room much to watch it. Staff were friendly, and it was handy to eat in the lobby, and leave our luggage after check out.

Great Trip

Great location, walking distance to everything. Our room was great with a nice shower. There is no air con although they provided a fan. Fresh towels and room cleaned everyday. Friendly reception staff. Would stay here again.

Family stay in Amsterdam

The people who worked the hotel front desk were very nice and helpful. However, our room was very small. . Had very little counter space, no bathroom surfaces for clothes. The bed was too close to the wall to climb into bed. No iron or board. No shampoo. No air conditioning. No breakfast or free coffee/tea. Elevator kept closing on me several times - ouch!

SAFE OPENED DURING STAY BY HOUSEKEEPING!!!!!!! Staff rating is solely on this. I stayed three days and on day two I arrived back to hotel to get something out of my safe. The safe pass numbers did not work. I went downstairs to tell them I must’ve put in the wrong code and they informed me that during the cleaning the person actually opened the safe thinking that things were left in there from the last guest. This absolutely does not make sense as my room was clean the day before and obviously I didn’t check out for another night. There’s no reason in the world that anyone should invade your privacy and open your safe thank goodness I did not have any valuables in there and nothing was missing, but something tells me they realized it thus did not steal anything. I lived in the Netherlands for four years and upon return, I would’ve never ever expected anything like this to happen. I would not recommend anyone to stay here unless you were going to carry every item with you or have nothing of any value in your possession. Very sad as that hotel was nice and tidy. I asked the staff at the desk how this happened and he said “ I’m only telling you what I was told” I hope everyone reads this before booking the hotel and who’s the situation
