Excellent stay

Was here with my university class. Learned a lot about the wild norwegian raindeer and about the nature in Hardangervidden. Nice facilities with an amazing view of Hardangervidden, and very helpful staff.

Do not use this hotel.

This is a completely overpriced hotel. Missing things like no TV and Wi-fi drags it down. The staff do the best they can as receptionists, waiters and what do I know.
It is clear that there has been a refugee reception before. The impression is shaky.
We ordered a 3-course dinner, but were offered a buffet. Bad marketing.
The rooms were basic, and the overall impression is that this was not worth such a high price.

- shabby hotel
- TV did not work in the hotel
- the elevator didn't work
- variable breakfast
-met an employee who spoke Norwegian
- have always booked hotels directly - it doesn't pay off here - we book e.g. booking

Nice hotel with a great location

Great first impression with a newly renovated reception area and bar/lounge. The standard rooms are good sized and are also renovated (except the bathrooms).
Due to corona restrictions the dinner buffet was closed and replaced with a 3-course set menu. The main course (spareribs and coleslaw) was very tasty. The breakfast really impressed us. They offered the same breakfast selection as the year before, only this time served by the staff.
The location is definitively the best part. Beautiful scenery and only a short drive from Rjukan with Vemork, Krossobanen and of course Gaustatoppen.
According to property amenities (at the trip advisor page) it is free parking. This is incorrect. We have visited this hotel twice (2019 and 2020), and both times we had to pay for parking. They should offer free parking for hotel guests.

Very good

An excellent hotel, and the location is superb for hiking and transportation further into Hardangervidda.
It is also near the city of Rjukan - which is a World heritage community and has a lot to offer tourists
