A very nice stay in a respectable hotel. Nice rooms, lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff who have service arranged. High value on the stay and satisfied with the whole. Thank you for us.

Pillows are awful as is the comforter. Sheet quality is average at best. This is a great hotel but today hotel bedding is extremely important. Funken fails when it comes to quality bedding sadly. Heavy thick awful pillows. Small ones are hard. The comforter is hard and not goose down. They need to buy some quality down pillows and comforters. This is basic today especially for a 5 star experience. Even Mariott provides this. Time to invest. This is not acceptable.

Could not get a meal at hotel in the evening
The location was good we booked a superior room with 3 day package which included 6 hour boat trip. Great staff no issuse we booked this hotel because it has best restraunt on Island they only have one in the hotel they had some bar snackes soup etc. When we arrived we were told the restraunt was fulky booked - and they apologised however they had no alternative place for guests to eat baring in mind this is a 4/5 star hotel that cost almost 3k for package of 3 nights. I actually thought this was a joke but no they could not provide me with an evening meal on any of the three nights we were staying - I asked to speak to manager and he apologised but they were full with cruse guests. They have plenty of space and I asked could we eat in the bar but they said no not an option he said they were at maximum capacity. I found ot that we were not the only guests to have this issue - they suggested several other reatraunts in the town which was an amazing response - this is really poor planing or poor management if your can not get a meal in a hotel paticularly when this is on there main selling points.

Popular accomodation for so many reasons!
Luxury at the edge of the world with incredible personable staff! Special thank you to Tina at the front desk, whose sunny demeanor made everyone's day. From advice on what trips were the most popular - to sorting a room where our family of three would be comfortable, Funken exceeded our expectations. As a celiac, I’m always cautious when I travel, and the breakfast staff went above and beyond (even making sure I got my daily GF granola straight from the kitchen container without risk of cross-contamination at the breakfast bar!) The rooms were spotless, and the blackout curtains help suspend time in the polar summer. The bar is a great spot with inventive drinks for a nightcap. Do note: The Hotel is popular and fills up incredibly quickly, so book early (!) We got the last room for our dates in July/August in February.
