It Felt Like Home

I love this place; every single member of the staff made me feel welcome and comfortable. I love coming down for breakfast and being greeted by a friendly staff member, and I enjoy the individually prepared breakfast.
The staff created an environment that allowed guests to interact with one another, as well as young professionals who use the hostel for communal workspace. By the end of my 10-day stay at Nextdoor, I felt completely at home with staff members knowing my family members back home.

Really cosy dorm in a spacious room. Friendly staff

A quality hostel with dorms that feels comfy and private. The dorm has a spacious trunk which serves as a desk too. The curtain offers privacy. The staff are friendly. It is a great start to the day with their quirky sense of humour. Breakfast menu changes every day. They also have many activities organised for guests. You will not be bored here.
Thank you Emi and Tisa for making my stay so enjoyable but I will miss the cat more.
I wish I had known about this place sooner. I will stay here again for my next visit to Kathmandu.

Great for an extended stay

I had an excellent stay during the summer of 2024 at Nextdoor. I booked a private room for three months and was upgraded to the penthouse for the last week of my stay free of additional charge due to some booking situation :). The staff are super friendly and helpful and the accommodations are very clean. The private room is huge and is the biggest room I've ever stayed in. Cleaning is once a week. Make sure to clarify the AC situation of the room you book if AC is important to you. Breakfast is tasty and changes everyday -- if a certain breakfast isn't to your liking, the staff are happy to accommodate.
The hostel is located in a good place -- it's right off a main street with nice shops and restaurants and it's a short walk from the more touristy locations in Patan. It's also very close to Kathmandu itself.
The best perk is getting to meet the other guests during breakfast and at hostel activities, who come from all over the world. The hostel also keeps a calendar of various activities throughout the week, some of which are organized by the hostel. It's a great way to stay busy. I tried a lot of new things for the first time during my stay.
Also, there is a friendly hostel cat!
