The interior decor was great. Also, cleanliness and serenity of the place was also nice and the staff were incredible, especially the lady that served us in the restaurant on our first night, I didn’t get the name but she really stood out despite the language barrier, she genuinely wanted us to be satisfied. And the receptionist on duty on Saturday that helped us get French fries with our buffet on request. We had a great time in the hotel generally. Thank you

Nice hotel with incompetent leadership

Preliminary information:
We have been booked here as a tour group through the operator RSD-Trips and booked All Inclusive (I am writing as a guest after already 2 days stay)
The hotel does not normally offer the service “All In”, so there is an exception especially for us as a tour group and the procedures of the drinks order is a disaster.
The management doesn't get it regulated to let us bring the drinks to the table. We have to meet in 1. On the first floor of the hotel, in the conference room, we can pick up the drinks we want and now, after a long back and forth, we can also sit outside at the dining tables. It wasn't meant to be. We “All In Guests” were supposed to eat our drinks in the conference room with a station atmosphere...(see pictures) A cheek, we felt like a 2. Great company.
The staff is very friendly, helpful and courteous, but unfortunately the management level is incompetent and does not act spontaneously:
For guests of a total of 4 coaches, a single working coffee machine is available, so it took us 50 minutes to tap 2 cups of coffee.
The second coffee machine is “Out of order”...and 200 guests now enjoy themselves with a machine!!️ For example, coffee pots could be placed on the table filled.
Rooms are clean and tidy
Location of the hotel near the beach
Pool and wellness area are very nice

Chic hotel with spa and sea view

This hotel is absolutely perfect for you! Great wellness area with sea views, chic ambience and extremely helpful staff!
Located right on a beautiful long stretch of beach in Sutamore. The area is rather quiet in relation to Budva and Kotor. Especially in high season, the hotel is therefore recommended, as the area is not so crowded. We were there at the end of September, which is why it was a bit too quiet for us and not all offers could be used on site anymore. Some shops nearby had already closed and the roof terrace of the hotel was also closed. In addition, Budva, Bar and Kotor can actually be reached by bus super good and cheap. However, out of season a bus was simply cancelled, so you should rent a car at the end of September or have to be prepared for the cost of one or the other taxi ride if you want to explore the area.
The biggest downside for me was that the breakfast was only open until 10:00 in the morning and the wellness area only from 9am-6pm. As someone who wants to sleep in and really recover on holiday, this circumstance has severely limited the recovery value for me. There was a large buffet with delicious local and classic food. Sometimes, however, due to a lack of signs, it was difficult to identify what exactly it was. (Somewhat difficult for allergy sufferers).
There were little things to complain about in the hotel rooms. So we had in the bathroom only the simplest equipment with visible signs of wear, which you are not used to as a German vacationer in a 4 star hotel. All in all, both the hotel and the rooms were very clean and well maintained. The view of the mountains was beautiful. Although we had not booked it, we had at least a tiny bit of sea view.
Wi-Fi went reasonably well, but was always gone. My mobile network worked very badly.
Conclusion: You can't compare the hotel to German standard, but we felt very comfortable and found especially the ambience, the proximity to the beach and the wellness area breathtaking.
Communication in English is easily possible with the staff. We were very grateful that the staff helped us in all matters as quickly as possible. Whether it affected the organization of a rental car or questions about the return flight had to be answered - we felt in good hands. Thanks for the great time!!
To all vacationers: Hotel Sato is worth a visit! Enjoy it:)

A solid place to stay in Sutomore

I only had a very short time in Montenegro and wanted to experience a beach town and as I was flying in and out of Podgorica, Sutomore was one of my few options.
I really did anguish about which hotel to choose - Porto Sole was half the price of this property, but several reviewers complained about sewerage smells in the rooms which was enough to deter me. Another big advantage of Sato is that they have their own section of beach. Yes, it's also extremely crowded, but the sunbed and umbrella is included in the room tariff.
I left it quite late booking and there were only sea-view rooms available for quite a bit more than I wanted to pay (almost double what I paid in central Podgorica) It turned out to be a pretty fantastic room with an awesome wrap-around balcony overlooking the ocean and busy street below. I had been in contact with the hotel over email earlier, and they were very helpful in answering my pre-sales questions.
Arriving on the train from Podgorica (which was an experience in itself) the hotel is easy to find being the tallest building in the village. The checkin process was efficient although they do require you leave your passport with them so they can enter the details. It's totally OK to request it back later.
As mentioned, the views from the room were top notch. The staff came up with a fruit plate, albeit a little limp looking and a bottle of water. Regardless, it was a nice gesture. Also unlike Porto Sole, the windows and doors of the room felt of decent quality and did an OK job of muffling the constant noise from the town below. The designers of the room did miss their course in fluid dynamics though as the AC unit cooled only the entrance hall while leaving the main part of the guest room quite warm.
Access to the beach as mentioned is included, and was fairly crowded but looked less crowded than the other paid beaches either side. I think there was the option to order food/drinks to your sun lounger but no staff ever came over to offer.
It was a MUCH better experience to get up early the next day (7am) and go for a morning swim without the crowds.
The breakfast was OK. Better than the other hotel I stayed at in Podgorica, but far below standards of a good Scandic or Radisson breakfast. At least there was coffee here. All the staff had pilot/captain uniforms on which was kind of cute.
Now onto the not so great aspects. Avoid the sky lounge! This is located on the top floor, and has some cozy outdoor seating with a nice view (not much different from my room balcony though).. The women working the bar was totally uninterested in her job - it took her 15 minutes to come over with the menu, and the drinks are extremely overpriced compared to what you get on the street. I ordered a Pina Colada which cost 10euros, took an age to arrive .. and when it did, was tiny. I felt severely ripped off and would recommend people go to look at the view, but buy your drinks elsewhere.
The room itself was functional. A reasonably priced mini-bar (comparatively). Shower had OK pressure, but the state of the drain was concerning. There is a big list of rules including not bringing in your own food or drink from outside which is ridiculous (and I did enjoy a slice of pizza and a beer on the balcony, both purchased outside the hotel)
Check-out was at 10am sharp which feels a little early compared to other hotels I have stayed at. I was relaxing in my room after breakfast and not one, but two different staff members entered the room without knocking around 9am. One to refill the minibar, the other was the cleaner. There is no security lock on the door - and not knocking is unacceptable.
The elevators (two serving the entire hotel) are painfully slow and never where you want them to be, so I got quite a bit of exercise on the stairs.
Didn't try the pool area, but it looks nice from the pictures. In terms of accommodation in Sutomore, this is probably the best choice.. but one should really question Sutomore as a destination unless you like crowds and the Motenegro version of the Las Vegas strip..
