Our honeymoon

I spent 3 nights on this beautiful hotel celebrating our honey moon and the memories that we made would make us come back every single year!! It’s the perfect spot when you’re traveling to Tequila, they have two restaurants on site But our favorite was La Taverna it’s the best restaurant I ever tried underground the perfect place for a romantic dinner, their service is totally III Forks and their food it’s spectacular!!! We are foodies so we highly recommend the restaurant and the hotel plus they also have a big temperature pool and everything it’s located in the middle of an agave plantation, each cabin has all your need for a perfect stay and the place it’s very clean, well stocked with amenities, strong wifi and privacy which is the best, they made a beautiful decoration for us with rose petals and a bottle of wine in our arrival, they also offer tours and experiences of how they made their own tequila in their own plantation which is fantastic and has a lot of story, every morning and night was a nature surprise for us and their massages wowww!!! we had the massage from La casa it’s a 90min.
We are definitely coming back as they make us feel at home, Alan the receptionist was such a great host for us with many recommendations and Pablo was the best guide he show us all the process on how they made their tequila plus we also did a tequila tasting, highly recommended this beautiful slice of paradise!! It was our first time in Tequila

Overall, I had a very good experience at Matices Hotel de Barricas. The concept is original and genuinely interesting, and the staff were attentive, friendly, and welcoming throughout my stay.
The restaurant is a good option for anyone who enjoys traditional Mexican food, but what really stands out is the setting: having a restaurant located about five meters underground is quite an experience. Their tequila selection is also impressive, with an extraordinary variety to choose from.
Another big plus is that this hotel is truly pet friendly. Dogs are welcome not only in the room, but throughout the hotel and its different areas. Traveling with Cannoli, that made a real difference and made the stay much more enjoyable.
A unique concept, good service, an impressive tequila experience, and a place that actually understands what “pet friendly” means.

Beautiful perfectly executed hotel concept.
Pool is specious pretty and clean.
Amazing underground restaurant need to see it to believe it.

Hidden Jewel for an all in one experience with a tequila distillery, hotel and restaurant.

This is a hotel in Tequila, Jalisco for people who are looking for a place where you can stay, have a great full breakfast thats included, take a tour of the Cofradía Tequila distillery which is in the same property with tequila tasting thats also included, so if you add all this extra value, the hotel is not expensive at all.
We also booked a horseback riding tour through a small town next to the property and through Agave fields.
Great service, great tequila distillery tour and a great restaurant!
All a short drive away from the busy and crowded tequila town center.

Very Instagrammable, but I didn't think it was a good value for money.

The property in general is immense, and with a spectacular and very different landscape, full of agave plantations and the shape of the rooms are actually barrels, which makes it very unique in its style. The room is extremely simple and basic, the beds are not at all comfortable and overall the rate seemed very high for the rooms. It's a very Instagrammable hotel and fun to take good photos, but I think the price-value ratio is disproportionate. The food is okay but nothing special.
