I liked that it was clean and that they welcome pets

I was pleasantly surprised at the hotel, because I saw some bad ratings. But the rooms were very clean, very close to the beach, with an oven and refrigerator working perfectly and the gardens very well maintained, outside the room there is a table and chairs where you can be very comfortable.
Only 2 drawbacks, I didn't like the restaurant, the food, and the access to the beach, the last step is very high and there are standing tubes. But with care you can access the beach. Very friendly people.
They accept pets, and they don't bother you at all

Enjoyed our stay

We were hoping for a hotel with a good pool and a nice beach to explore and find treasures. For the price, we were very happy. All three pools we used were in excellent condition. While the entrance to the beach was a steep, rickety wooden ladder, we enjoyed the seclusion from crowds and found many sand dollars, crabs and other treasures. There were several birds and crittters on the grounds we enjoyed visiting, but you can tell there used to be more and were better kept in years past. The beds were not very comfortable, but we enjoyed our balcony and felt we had enough room for us 2 adults and 2 teenage girls. We will definitely be back!

Decent hotel with potential to be really good

PROS: Hotel Mision del Mar is on an unpopulated beach on the Emerald Coast (Costa Esmeralda) of Veracruz. It is a relatively new property visited mostly by Mexican families. It has large, modern rooms that are nicely decorated. The air conditioning was working well in all the rooms. It has three large pools. It's a huge property with interesting sculptures and lots of potential. The Gulf Coast beach is almost virgin and full of seashells. Food at the hotel is nothing to speak of, but nearby are the towns of Casitas (about 10 min.) and San Rafael (about 30 min.) where there are many great restaurants (Try "El Sotano" on the main town square in San Rafael - Delicious!!!).
CONS:
* No drinking water provided in rooms.
* No internet service.
* No cable TV.
* Water in pools was a little murky some days, but decent.
* Restaurant service is slow. The food we had was okay, though somewhat overpriced. For example, a cup of coffee is about US$1.50 with no refills.
* The hotel allows outsiders to use the facilities during the day, so one day we were invaded by an extended family of about 30 people and had to move to a different pool for the protection of our small children.
* The access to the beach is an unstable staircase with no handrail (but we enjoyed the beach).
If the hotel owners would pay attention to some of these details, I could highly recommend this hotel for people who want to experience the Gulf Coast of Mexico.
PRICES:
* The "low season" price is decent for what you get: about US$65 per night.
* The "high season" (holidays) price is not worth is: about US$140 per night.
Overall, an okay experience for the price, but there are much better options in other parts of Mexico.

Exelente estancia recommendable regresar

Gente muy amable que nos brindaron un exelente servicio aclarando que los exelentes precios Para MI fueron muy Comoros y respetables,
Me la pase muy bien y la verdad si regresaria a este lugar ..........

PÉSIMA ATENCIÓN Y SERVICIO

Vía telefónica tardaron en responder para reservar, posteriormente tardaron para enviarme mi confirmación, se equivocaron y aún que no querían aceptar su error terminaron por hacerlo y dándome otras habitaciones, al llegar al hotel todo estaba en orden hasta que quisieron hacerme pagar más y por otro lado las facturas no me las han enviado y ya tiene una semana de nuestra estancia en el hotel, tardaron en entregarnos una habitación y Abigaíl la encargada es una persona arrogante que busca culpables de sus propios errores, no volvería a hospedarme en ese hotel…. Por cierto sigo esperando mis facturas y ya no me responden
