I wish the pillows would have been more comfortable and there is nowhere to sit your carry on luggage

Never comeback here!
Terrible experience, to old and bare necessities in the room, on top of that a leaking right in the toilet coming from the ceiling! Bathroom smelled like sewage. When we complained at the front desk we were told that we had to deal with it!! We had 5 nights reservation, we only stayed 1 night. We left the hotel and went to another hotel. So we lost the money for the other nights reserved. Staff did nothing to fix the situation. Never come back to this hotel!

Walls are not soundproof. Hairdryer does not work. Lack of shampoo or conditioner in bathroom. Breakfast was simple for the price better going out to eat.

Good location - wouldn't go back
A well situated hotel in the historic district. We found it nice and quiet. The room is large and the bed was comfortable, although I found the pillows a bit large for me. The decor is minimalist and modern. The room could have been anywhere in the world, no Mexican art or any decor of any kind.
The towels were harsh and the only amenities were a bar of soap and a shampoo. There is no soap dish beside the sink, so you have to put it on the wooden counter. We asked for the room to be cleaned one day and the next set of towels were much softer and nicer. There was one chair in the room, but the springs were gone on it. You could not use it for the desk as it was too low. Plug-ins - there were 2, but they were hidden inside the nightstands - I needed a flashlight to see where to plug it in. The safe did not work, but an attendant fixed it so it would work with a key. There was no luggage rack - to no place to put your suitcase except the floor. We asked for one and did get one, but they had to search for it.
One bottle of water was provided 355ml. You could ask for more at 15 pesos each. But a few doors down at the bodega you could buy a 3L jug for 27pesos!
Breakfast service was mediocre - the food was okay. The bar had very limited choices in beer and for cocktails, the barman had to go to the main floor to get supplies (roof top bar). There is a small bodega a few doors over to pick up water or other things you might need.

NOT Recommended
First a few positive comments about this hotel: Good location, large rooms, awesome view of Popocatépetl Volcano from the roof top bar (although the selection of beers was pretty tiny). Unfortunately there are many negatives to list. The large room is poorly furnished and undecorated. The upholstered chair completely sank when it was sat in. We had to ask for a luggage rack and help with the safe (which had no instructions). These things should be automatically in the room.
The shower head is a rain-head which is fine if you want to wash your hair every time you shower, but not great if you don't want to get your hair wet. No shower caps were provided. Also, only one bar of soap to share between the shower and sink. NO soap holder for the bar of soap so the wooden counter around the sink was pretty damaged. I had to turn off the cold water main line (under the sink) in order to get any warm/hot water for the sink. Only shampoo was supplied as an amenity -- no cream rinse or body lotion. There was no place to hang the hand towel at the sink. The towels supplied were tattered and ragged.
Only one tiny 355mL bottle of potable water was supplied. There was a sign saying we could BUY more for 15 pesos per tiny bottle! Insert sad/angry face here! At the little store 20 meters away, I could by 3 litres of water for 27 pesos. First, they shouldn't be charging for the tiny bottles, but certainly not 370 times the price of water at a store!
I had a night light on each side of my bed, but my friend's room had none. I also had a plug on the wall above one night table. My friend's room had a plug on the wall under the night table -- very awkward to reach.
Breakfast was NOT included in the nightly hotel rate, but for convenience we decided to try having breakfast in the lobby café. Big mistake. While the food was okay, the service was miserable. We felt like we were disturbing the two workers who really just wanted to play on their phones rather than serving the only three customers in the café. The coffee was only warm, not hot. It was not a guest-friendly experience. For our other three breakfasts, we went to the hotel across the street and were delighted with the excellent service and food.
