Gem Alert !!

This place is a gem! I was greeted by one of the friendly owners as soon as I arrived. Stayed for four nights. Beautiful, Lucious and tranquil. The employees are fantastic and kind. Highly recommended. Hope to stay here again in the future.

Best place

There was a warm welcome from Aaron on arrival for our 8-night stay. We were in the Balam room (upstairs with a balcony) which was well decorated and very comfortable. It was spacious, with a large comfortable bed, plenty of storage and hanging space, a safe, a TV with some english channels. The room had A/C and a fan.
In the public areas there was a small pool, lovely  greenery and lots of nice seating areas. There was an honesty bar, free water and use of the fridge if needed.
The breakfast was served between 8 and 9am. Each morning was different and plentiful, with refilable juice and coffee. Some mornings we got cinnamon buns or cake straight out of the oven. All of it was delicious and generous.
Aaron was great and always friendly and helpful. The ladies assisting/cooking worked very hard and always nice.
The owners Sarah and George were present at some point each day and always nice to talk to. Baby Elian was a cutey.
This was the nicest place we stayed during 3 weeks in the Yucatan and we can't recommend it enough.

A peaceful, relaxing oasis with a beautiful pool/ courtyard area and comfortable rooms decorated in a traditional style. The homemade breakfasts were incredible and more than substantial. Easy walk to town center, shopping and restaurants (but without the noise of the city). George, Sarah and Aaron were always available and very helpful. Highly recommend doing a food tour at the local market (near Plaza Grande) for better food at a fraction of the price of the touristy restaurants. Also enjoyed day trips to Uxmal and some rural cenotes, the flamingo beach at Celestun, the free city center walking tour, and a boat trip to Isla Columpias. Mérida is a safe and friendly city - we would definitely return and stay at Casa del Maya again.

Staff was exceptionably welcoming and informed. The breakfast was absolutely good — taste wise and nutritionally.
