Hotel Mumai: My Perfect Oasis for Business and Pleasure in Ciudad Constitución!

The best thing about cd Constitución is the comfort, the attention from its staff, and above all, the feeling that I am safe in its facilities.

Very nice

*In the bathroom there is no towel-type mat to avoid slipping (for children)
*Martina, the cleaning lady, was very attentive and helpful, every day she asked what we needed and responded to the request instantly.
*At reception the guy who helped us, always smiling and attentive to everything.
*Clean and tidy facilities.

*The pool is beautiful
*The only thing is the internet, it's not very good :(

Good Value

This is clearly the best hotel in town, and it is located just on the edge of town on the way in from the south. Maps on expedia and tripadviser not accurate. The rooms are large, but look a bit bleak as their is no artwork on the walls. Cannot suggest anywhere for dinner in town .....we drove up and down the main street several times but nothing looked enticing so we got a take out pizza that was barely OK and some wine and beer and had our own little party back at the Mumai.

Private and Perfect

Ok folks, this is what they call an "auto motel" we used to call them "no tell motels". The rooms are very well appointed, clean and have private parking garages for each unit. Some are first floor and some are 2nd floor rooms.
They offer a lazy susan to your room so that you can have snacks and sodas delivered to your room without being disturbed. The king size beds are comfy, nice showers, etc and they do allow dogs as long as you keep them in the garage area.
The price is right - about $500 peso ($25 us dlls at current exchange rate) - Just on the very South edge of Town.

Beautiful hotel with some funny quirks

This is a very beautiful hotel that is not very well run. Rooms are spacious and clean, bed linens are new and very tasteful, and there is even a private garage for EACH room.
The quirky parts -- when we checked in, we were asked for a 200 pesos key deposit. This is pretty standard in Mexico. No problem. But then immediately after that, we were told that the keys to our rooms had been stolen (!) and so we wouldn't be getting a key. Huh? You don't have spares? You didn't change the locks? You just let people walk off with your keys and now you can't lock the doors?? Really?
Really.
So the solution they came up with was for us to use our garage as our "locked" door. (the room door is inside the garage, so when the garage is closed, no one can get into the room) . Just one problem with that -- they refused to give us the remote-control opener for the garage. Because we might lose it! No one gets an opener! The front desk will open it for you, just ask! Really?
Yup. So every time we came and went from the hotel, we had to go through a routine of asking the front desk to please open (or close) our garage doors. It worked OK, but it was very odd.
And we DID get our 200 peso key deposit back! So I guess it all turned out OK.
** one more thing: shower pressure is terrible **
But it's really clean and nice, and easily one of the best hotels in this town .
