Marrakesh

We had a great time with my sister and a friend.
The staff is very attentive, welcoming available and always there for their guests.The hotel is 15 minutes the medina by taxi.We did not rent a car the excursions were at the foot of the hotel the advantage of being on the road of ourika!!!
The big plus the pool very nice, beautiful garden very well maintained in the shade of olive trees, birdsong...
I highly recommend
A typical hotel full of Moroccan charm
The room and bedding were perfect
Do not rely on negative reviews surely from guests used to sanitized hotels.

Unprofessional management and poor maintenance ruin a nice setting

​A beautiful layout means nothing if the water is dirty and the management doesn't understand basic hospitality. When my wife and I arrived, the pool water was dusty and covered in debris; we had to point it out to the manager just to get it cleaned.
​When we asked the same manager for ice for our water, we were treated like we were asking for a massive favor. By the third polite request, he completely ignored me at the bar, refusing to even acknowledge my presence. To make matters worse, the selective enforcement of rules here is glaring. Another guest who brought in outside whiskey was happily given ice and glasses, while we were frozen out for drinking water. A manager is supposed to maintain the property and set the standard for service, but here, he fails at both. Absolutely unprofessional.

Regarding your requests for ice, Jnane Leila does not provide loose ice to guest rooms as part of its standard service. Guests are welcome to enjoy water, refreshments, and ice served directly at our bar and dining areas, where our team is always happy to assist. As a result, our staff followed the property's usual procedures during your stay.
We would also like to clarify that our team includes both a manager and a barman, and there may have been some confusion regarding the staff members involved in your interactions.
Concerning the swimming pool, your arrival coincided with a brief but significant windstorm that had affected the Marrakech area shortly beforehand. As our property is surrounded by gardens and natural landscapes, some leaves and debris were temporarily blown into the pool. Once brought to our attention, our team took immediate action to ensure the area met our usual standards.
We fully respect your opinion and understand that every guest experiences a stay differently. While we do not entirely share your assessment, we appreciate your feedback and will take it into consideration. Our aim remains to provide a comfortable and enjoyable stay for all our guests.

A little oasis with friendly staff and clean but no frills rooms and service

Jnane Leila is a no frills small hotel just on the outskirts of Marrakech. It’s on a main road but once inside the gates there’s enough distance that you really don’t notice. Welcome was friendly by all the staff - service was patchy and you often had to search out help or service, but as I said it’s no frills. Breakfast was simple, think croissants, bread, cheese, jam and honey and fresh fruit. Coffee and tea. Breakfast starts at 8.30 which for me was a tad late as I rise early and was gasping for my coffee. There is a bar selling juices, soft drinks and alcohol and a small restaurant that’s okay for snacks. The room I had was a junior suite which had a lovely terrace with a Berber style cushioned seating area outside and another seating area inside, a big bed and a good sized bathroom and shower. Rooms were cleaned and beds changed daily. I’d say the rooms were a little tired decoratively but clean and cool with air conditioning and a fire (for winter) if needed and a small fridge to stock up on water and soft drinks if you want to. . Hint - don’t leave your door open after dark or you will get little flies everywhere - a Moroccan thing not just this hotel. Overall the hotel felt safe and the staff couldn’t have been kinder. Taxis into central Marrakech are around 100- 200 dirhams, but you can get the local bus for just 5 dirhams into the centre if you can navigate the timetable (bus no 25). The pool was too cold for me in May (it’s unheated) but the sun loungers and general ambience was nice and chilled with lots of Berber style seating and a couple of tented areas where you could just rest and relax with a book or a drink or snack. Gardens are nice and lush, but the paths could do with some repair - or just watch your step and walk with care. If you’re from UK or Europe I’d say its a 3 star, but that’s subjective and mainly due to the facilities offered and service level - as I said no frills, but clean and welcoming and an oasis away from the busy centre of Marrakech but close enough to it and the airport to still be convenient.

Small piece of peaceful paradise

I booked in this property not to be in a gigantic hotel, with music all the time and far too many people, My choice was rewarded. So obviously we are far from the sanitized hotels with air conditioning. On the other hand we will find calm, a beautiful garden, a beautiful swimming pool, smiling and available staff. The rooms are spacious in Moroccan décor. You can eat whenever you want, just place your order a little in advance. The rate is adapted to the location. We will be happy to come back to that.

Jnane Leila, a place of well-being!

A garden in the city. Only a few kilometers from the Medina, Jnane Leila is a haven of peace. The rooms are superb, the pool and the outdoor "small lounges" are lovely. The staff is very attentive and extremely kind. How good it feels. Everything is done to discover and appreciate Morocco. A delight!
