Do not miss this wonderful resort
A Hidden Gem indeed! Love the peace, tranquility and serene in this beautiful villa. For the price is very reasonable with good breakfast. Big, spacious and clean room, even with a welcome fruit basket. The room has panoramic sea views and in the evening we felt the gentle coastal breeze. So amazing! The staff were friendly and attentive especially the front office manager, Mr Shah. Such an accommodating man, friendly and always with a smile on his face. Not forgetting Ms Syedah from the GRM who took the effort to surprise my husband a piece of birthday cake. We left completely refreshed and cannot wait to return.

Very far from the beaches and the lively center of Langkawi
Hotel located quite far from the city and restaurants
We stayed two nights in this hotel, which is very large, with a pretty nice and well maintained park
The rooms are large equipped with balconies, but it still needs a good refreshment, as the furniture is starting to be a little outdated
The pool is nice with a beautiful view of the sea, there is a small beach, but it is forbidden to swim there
The hotel does not offer any alcoholic beverages so to drink a beer around the pool you have to plan to do some shopping before
The staff is friendly but a little distant from the customer
Breakfast is good with possibility to eat inside and outside
It is highly recommended to rent a scooter if you want to take a walk around town
The beaches are accessible by scooter or car about 10 minutes drive
Overall, the hotel is fair, but too far from all amenities for my taste

Excellent Value and a Lovely, Peaceful Stay
We stayed at Ombak Villa Langkawi for 3 nights in August 2026, booking two triple rooms. The hotel kindly accommodated our request for the rooms to be next to each other, which was much appreciated.
For a 4-star hotel, we thought Ombak Villa was excellent value for money and, in our experience, actually better than some 5-star hotels we have stayed in. The accommodation was very reasonably priced considering the quality.
Our rooms were spacious and very clean, with lovely large bathrooms and fantastic, powerful showers. The beds deserve a special mention — they were firm, extremely comfortable and some of the best hotel beds we have slept in. The only real issue for us was the pillows, which were exceptionally thick. None of us could get completely comfortable with them, and unfortunately the hotel didn't have any alternative pillows available when we called.
The grounds are lovely, with plenty of trees and greenery surrounding the villas. Everything was well kept and we always felt safe. Despite the hotel being full, it felt surprisingly quiet and peaceful, which was a real bonus.
The pool was also very well maintained, with staff regularly clearing leaves and keeping it clean. It was generally quiet during our stay. The only downside was the sunbeds: the padded sections seemed to retain/leak water, meaning our dry towels became wet while we were lying on them.
The staff were generally lovely, polite and helpful throughout our stay. The only exception was an older member of staff dealing with pool towels, who was noticeably grumpy compared with everyone else.
There is a beach at the property, although it isn't suitable for swimming. The hotel specifically advises that the sea conditions are not suitable for swimming and that the beach is mainly for walking, with access affected by the tides. We weren't particularly bothered by this as the pool was good, but it is worth knowing if you're booking specifically for a swimming beach.
Food and drinks at the hotel were reasonably priced, and there was plenty of free parking. The location was convenient for the airport — around a 5-minute drive — although it's roughly a 15-minute drive to the nearest town, so having a car was useful for us.
One unusual point was the hotel deposit. A deposit was taken from us on arrival, but when we checked out we were unable to use that deposit against the charges we had accumulated on our room. This was the first time we have encountered this arrangement, and it seemed rather strange.
Overall, though, we really enjoyed our stay. The combination of spacious and clean rooms, fantastic beds, beautiful grounds, a peaceful atmosphere, good service and very reasonable pricing made this a great choice for us. We would happily stay here again and would definitely recommend it.
