The hotel is right next to a light rail station for travel around the city center. We did not actually use it. We did walk one day to ChinaTown, past the Merdeka 118 tower. Was a long but pleasant walk. There appears to be restaurants and shopping in the blocks surrounding the hotel. We booked a suite and were given a room on the 17th floor. The room was nice, but did not have any silverware or glasses other than the water glasses in the bathroom. Would have been nice to have some wine glasses, and maybe even a wine opener in the room. There is a lounge on level M2 reserved for the suite guests. The young man who manned the desk tried to be helpful, but often gave incomplete or confusing information. Such as, he told us we could store our luggage there the last day, while having lunch before our ride to the airport. The person actually on duty that day said no and made us take luggage to the lobby. We had a light dinner at the rooftop bar. The food and service were average, but double the price of what you'd pay in the city. Drinks and lunch at the lobby bar were likewise on the pricey side. The pool in the later afternoon was pleasant and clean. The exercise room on level -1 was adequate, but 2 of the 4 elliptical machines were not functioning properly. Overall, we had a pleasant stay here and I would consider staying here again, but would also consider other options in the city center.

First time in Kuala Lumpur
Melia KL was the final.of my 3 leg journey through Asia, first two being Singapore and Penang. Being largely unaware of KL, I booked Melia on the recommendation of my sister who has stayed previously, and I also took her advice to stay in "the Level" whilst here. I enjoyed my stay immensely. The location is amazing, being right beside a monorail station and a short walk to bustling Bukit Bintang. The service was unbelievably good, from the concierge who threw an umbrella to me upon my arrival when it was pouring rain, to the gentleman who checked me in remembering my name 4 days after. The drinks & candles available daily as a guest of the Level was a nice addition before heading out for the evening. My room was spacious, clean, quiet and faced Berjaya Times Square. I recommend to anyone new to KL who wants a central base to stay

The Level Room is A Game Changer
I stayed at Melia twice over the last month over my journey to KL and Bangkok, once in the level room and another one in a basic room. I think the level room is so worth it, the service itself is different and more premium and you can feel it all the hospitality of the staff. The basic room i had for my last 2 nights had some issues with really bad cigarette smell which was quickly fixed by the reception team. The buffet choice was decent nothing too extra. The only thing i need to mention is for the level lounge need to have a proper cocktail menu not an excel sheet to show to client. That put us off a bit, but apart from that all was good.

Great place to stay and friendly staff
Great stay at melia kuala lumpur,central location and easy to go around,since arrived to hotel,staff were friendly and welcoming,friendly approach from reception staff and porters,jeve was helpful,special thanks to,Mr Thiru for the nice room upgrade and the stay special,truly appreciate alot, we are celebrating anniversary,
