Blast from the past

Booked this hotel coz it was cheap. when I walked into reception almost regretted it straight away. Reminded me of a scene from a 1960s HK drama. Hotel looks so old, almost decrepit, no coffee house, no lounge, everything looks 60 years old. Thankfully rooms recently renovated. Surprised on upside. air cond works, water pressure good, heater good. But no shower curtain or cubicle so bathroom left wet from shower. No fridge, or safe. for the price cannot complain. Weird they renovated the rooms but did nothing to exterior, better than other way around i suppose. Old lady at reception trying her best but can't speak English, not really a receptionist so please understand. Its a small town.

Great location for sightseeing in the old town

My purpose was to see Batpaha where Mitsuharu Kaneko spent his time, so this hotel in the old town was an unexpected location.
If you get tired of walking, you can go back to your room and rest while looking down on the city of Batpaha. It’s easy to follow Kaneko’s example and go out for an evening stroll. It takes less than 10 minutes to walk to the Old Japanese Club, so you can go out to see the city at night.
The rooms are simple. It was a room with nothing but showers, but it was well cleaned.

Value for Money

A 3 star hotel affordable to all. Their room is a bit date but comfort to stay. All the facilities are functionning well. Room service can be improved. Strategic located nearby center of town, convienance to move. Ample of parking

concrete and chandeliers

friendly helpful staff. decent value hotel with kind of stripped down brutalist corridors. i liked it and the wierd silver horse head light fittings. Room was fine with very high ceilings and a spectacular chandelier which would probably have been more at home in an upmarket hotel.
