Your home away from home - don't consider anywhere else
Even before we arrived, Phout was incredibly gracious, helping arrange a driver for the day. Kham was excellent—punctual, professional, and driving a very comfortable vehicle.
Upon arrival, Alin checked us in and immediately put us at ease after a long journey. He was calm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. We were greeted with tea and small rice-and-banana treats (not overly sweet and delicious), and he provided a thorough orientation to both the property and the area. When he learned we’d be leaving early the next morning, he proactively arranged breakfast boxes and lattes, confirmed our driver, and ensured we were well acquainted with our room features. The level of care was exceptional.
The property itself is beautifully designed. A charming front sitting room with a small bar area (stocked with fruit, coffee, and tea) leads into a spacious, cool, impeccably furnished bedroom. The bathroom was equally impressive—not just spotless, but incredibly well thought out, with locally made bug spray, beautifully scented lotions, and even a battery-operated candle for nighttime use without harsh lighting. Every detail felt intentional. It’s clear the owners truly understand what makes a stay comfortable.
Breakfast deserves special mention. The takeaway breakfast boxes were perfect for our early start to Kuang Si Falls, but the in-house breakfast the following day was outstanding. Fresh local bread with house-made tamarind jam, generous entrée options like a large omelet and Lao chicken pho, excellent coffee (including a great soy latte), and a beautiful fruit plate we couldn’t resist ordering after seeing another table’s. The setting is relaxed and inviting—you naturally find yourself chatting with other guests. We left breakfast completely satisfied—and honestly a bit sad to be checking out.
There’s also a lovely front sitting area and bar, and while we didn’t have time to use the pool, it looked inviting. Phout also provided great recommendations for lunch and a massage, which were spot on.
Bottom line: I wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else in Luang Prabang. The care, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality here are exceptional—it’s easy to see why this property is so highly rated.

Exceptional hotel!
The room was decorated with taste and equipped with great attention to detail.
We had an absolutely perfect 4-night stay.

Lovely place
Breakfast was great. We put in our orders the day before, when we got up the next day, go to the lounge and our breakfasts are once we sit down, so it's nice, fresh and hot, with fresh fruits.
Staffs recommended places to visit and they would even call for us a tuk tuk or any type of transportation if needed.
We'd met a few other Staffs and housekeepers as well while we stayed there. And everyone is so kind and hospitable. We love our stayed at Baan Pila and will definitely stay there again if we ever go back and visit. Staying there will not break your bank. It's very reasonable. And the place is super nice and clean inside and out. Very peaceful, quiet, and relaxing. It's close to everything within a walking distance.
Would highly recommend it if anyone's planning on visiting Luang Prabang.

Outstanding boutique hotel
The rooms and the house are beautiful.
The pool is nice to cool off and breakfasts are a treat.
But Baan Pila’s main asset is its exceptional staff, who are left in tears.
