A basic but comfortable hotel
The hotel has a modern design. My room was clean and comfortable and there was lots of hot water for the shower. The lady at reception had only limited English, but was friendly and helpful.
The main downside is that breakfast was fairly minimal. 900 Tenge for porridge, toast and coffee.
Overall everything is a little basic, but also adequate and comfortable. Definitely good value for money.

Ideally located hotel
We stayed at this hotel for one night while passing through Semey. We had a late train to catch and were allowed a late check out for no additional cost, for which we were very grateful. The hotel is located on Uranhaev Street, which is short walk from the Semey University bus stop on Abay Street. Although the staff do not speak much english, we found them very helpful.
The room was spacious with three beds.It was sparsely furnished with a closet, and a desk with a single chair. There was air conditioning and cable TV. The wifi worked well and we were very comfortable in the room. There wasn't much of a view, as our room overlooked the street to the left of the hotel where the main entrance to the restaurant was situated. We had breakfast at the restaurant, which operates between 8am - midnight, and it was very well prepared and reasonably priced.
If you have a short stay in Semey, I would definitely recommend this hotel. A short walk in the direction of Abay Street will lead you to quite a few F&B options, which are either local or fast food. Many small shops are on Abay Street where you can buy basic supplies. Abay Street has many bus routes, so is a good area to start exploring the city.If you walk south for five minutes, there is a lovely park with a few sculptures and you will have a great stroll on the river promenade.

A penny-pinching establishment. Isn't there anything better?
The hotel is on three floors. No elevator.

Sparkling water from the fridge in reception (it is NOT provided in the rooms) costs 170 Tenge
Room 208: thin walls ( some VERY personal sounds from the room next door); room cleaning once in three days; cups and saucers but no kettle or tea bags; gaping hole - missing bath panel; the "hot water" isn't hot. No plugs in the hand basin or the bath; pre-war style grey toilet paper (scratchy). Rickety toilet, broken seat.
No bedside lamps, no toiletries (except some liquid soap in a plastic bottle), no paper handkerchiefs.
There are better rooms - suites, in fact. I can only review this room, as my boss is a cheapskate or doesn't value my services enough to get me a better room...
The restaurant (barbecue style) has a team of s-l-o-w waiters and waitresses. The meat is grilled until it becomes unrecognisable. There is a limited selection of soups and salads, also a few desserts. The portions are NOT enormous.
The draught beer is cheap, about 400 Tenge for a litre. The best (and only) draught I could ind was "Prague" - imaginably a Czech beer. The Hoegaarden tap was there but was not available. Loads of small bottles of vodka, and a range of wines.
Breakfast amounts to a choice of four options. Porridge is one, cereals, something else, and a fried breakfast. The toast is only vaguely warm. The eggs swim in oil. For coffee, you pay extra. Tea is included (a teabag and a small teapot (about two cups) filled with water. I usually put the teabag into the pot to get consistent strength...)

Хороший отель для 2-х дней
Соотношение цены и качества.
Очень недорого и по простецки.
Отличные завтраки, вот уж точно большой плюс.
Ну и при отеле гриль бар огромный плюс. Можно не парится с тем, где поужинать. Все очень достойно!

Нормальный отель эконом-класса
Россияне будут приятно удивлены ценой в рублях за стандартный номер. Скажу Вам по-секрету, что стандартный номер даже лучше номера-люкс в этом отеле. В стандартном номере есть двуспальная кровать, стол, два стула, телевизор с российским каналом, вешалка, шкаф. В ванной ванна, раковина, унитаз, зеркало - все чистое. Розеток везде достаточно. В отопительный сезон ( мы были в начале октября) топят вовремя, по ночам не холодно. В ванной комнате есть полотенце для рук и жидкое мыло. Завтракать можно в этой же гостинице. Завтрак с кашей, тостами и чаем или кофе или завтрак с глазуньей с чаем и кофе или тостами стоит в ресторане отеля 400 тенге ( около 80 рублей). В этом же ресторане есть бизнес-ланч за вменяемые деньги и можно поужинать вкусным грилем. Персонал гостиницы приветливый, радушный, вежливый. Уборка в номерах через день. Улица, на которой стоит отель довольно тихая, рядом набережная Иртыша, центральные проспекты, музеи. От вокзала доехать на такси 80 рублей ( цена в октябре 2017). В общем, рекомендую.
