Hotel was tired and in need of a revamp. Not fitting with the usual standards of the Handpicked brand.
We were helped by the front desk staff when we were initially given an unsuitable room, and the serving staff were very friendly.

Great location, Hotel needs attention.
A beautiful location, but the rooms need some attention
We had a lovely stay at the Horizon Beach Hotel in St Brelade’s, and the location really is hard to beat. The beach is absolutely stunning, and having it right on your doorstep is a huge plus. The views from the hotel were incredible, the staff were amazing — genuinely friendly, welcoming and helpful — and the facilities overall were very good. The cocktails were fantastic, and we also ate at the hotel and really enjoyed the food.
There were, however, a few things that disappointed me, particularly considering the price of the room.
Our room was very small and felt quite dated. I had specifically requested twin beds as I was travelling with a friend, but what we actually had was essentially a double bed with two single duvets placed on it. That wasn't quite what I had expected.
The bathroom was the biggest disappointment. It was clean enough generally, but the grout around the bath looked dirty and as though it was coming away, the sink was cracked, and the area around the plug looked rather grim. For a hotel charging around £300 a night, I really think the bedrooms and bathrooms need some investment and updating.
Another thing I found frustrating was the lack of information about some of the facilities. The beach is literally outside the hotel and there are sunbeds available, but you have to pay for them. We went down without taking any money because we were simply heading to the beach, and it was only through speaking to someone else that we discovered hotel guests could get a voucher from reception for the sunbeds for free. This wasn't made clear in the information provided to us. A simple information pack in the room explaining things like this would make a big difference.
Overall, we really enjoyed St Brelade’s and the hotel has so much going for it — the location, beach, views, staff, food and drinks were all fantastic. But unfortunately, I don't feel the room represented the price we paid.
Would I return to St Brelade’s? Absolutely. Would I stay at the Le Horizon Hotel again at around £300 a night for that room? Probably not. I think next time I'd look at another hotel in the area.

Fantastic Hotel in a Stunning Location
Fantastic hotel and overall very good experience.
The positives...
Stunning location, excellent service and customer care at all levels and in all parts of the building, lovely open air terrace, wonderful glass-fronted dining terrace, good menu choices with different options for dining, outstanding selection of breakfast choices, nice pool and spa with good treatment options, good parking. Convenient for airport and access to all other parts of the island.
All in all a wonderful experience and will definately return.
The (very) minor negatives...
We had a room at the rear overlooking the car park (our fault as it was a last minute booking). The room was very well appointed and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Decor was a bit 'tired' for the room and also for some of the corridors in the hotel.
The music on the terrace only happened a couple of times but is it really necessary to bring in loud music to 'entertain' people in such a stunning location in a place that oozes tranquility? It's not the kind of hotel/location where you need to pull in passing punters. It's a minor point but the sound of the ocean is far more pleasant than thumping music - and I love music of all sorts but it just felt wrong.
Don't let these minor points put anyone off of going to this hotel. The overall experience was excellent and what shone above everything was the staff friendliness and customer service. I am already trying to get booked up here for 2027!

Lovely room, lovely sea view. Great to not have to cross a road to get to the beach (fantastic beach too!). Lovely food, lovely staff. All in all just....lovely!!
