Excellent place

We stayed the for two days and it was real nice. She had a whole bungalow for ourselves with a duplex floor and a private onset. The dinner and the breakfast was excellent in a Privat room.is very recommended if visiting this area.

We thought it was good!

My wife and I spent a night at Pension One More Time (not sure what the Heart part of the Trip Advisor listing name is) in Nikko. Also, the primary picture in the Trip Advisor listing doesn’t quite jive so I have uploaded mine. We arrived by train in Nikko from Tokyo at 3:00 PM and a quick call to the hotel had their shuttle at the train station at 3:15 to pick us up. The check in process was quick and easy and we were situated in our second floor room by 3:30. The room itself was large, clean and highly functional. It had everything we wanted and the bed was very comfortable. The private bath area in the room was ready for us upon arrival with hot water and a cover to keep it hot. We took a quick soak to clean up after a day of travel. Dinner, we were told, was served at 6:30 PM in the dining area. We were possibly the only foreigners in the shared dining area along with maybe 12 other couples. Most of the other guests were young (20s) and maybe 4 couples were in their 50s or 60s. The six course French dinner was really good and the menu consisted of:
- hours d’oeuvre: 3 terrine - each made from chicken, pumpkin and pork
- potato soup
- salmon with a Japanese sauce
- a yuba dish (local delicacy)
- a beef fillet steak
- dessert course of chocolate cake and ice cream.
They had a bar with wine, beer and cocktails as well.
Breakfast was served at 7:30 AM and the front desk called the room at that time.
Breakfast was also good (pictured) with eggs, bacon and a potato hash patty. The coffee was good too.
My wife and I left breakfast and immediately hiked on foot from the hotel to the nearly Kirifuri falls (lookout). It was a mile and a half (uphill) on some paved roads and it was totally worth it. We spent about 30 minutes there taking it all in. We were in Nikko during fall foliage season so the view of the falls was exceptionally beautiful. We returned to the pension at 9:30 AM, showered and packed up and we were checked out at 10:00 AM (which happened to be the check out time) and were in the shuttle back to the train station by 10:15.
My wife and I spent a second night in town at a different hotel where we dropped our bags and spent the day exploring the UNESCO world heritage sites temples & palaces. It was a great day! We would totally stay at Pension One More Time and would recommend it to our friends. It had a slightly dated feel which we found to kitschy and fun and the lobby and shared dining area were filled with tchotchkes which was sort of weird and cool. Would be better if they thought more about their customers

This is a funky little place in a funky location. The rooms are an okay size and clean. The French dinner was very nice. However, the staff run on a strict timetable (like all the Japanese hahahah). It might be work for them, but for their customers it is supposed to be a holiday. The sooner they understand that, the better service would be.

Friendly pension with great food and private hot baths!

I only stayed one night at pension one more time but I'd love to have stayed longer!
The food was delicious and really filling - the breakfast certainly set us up for the day! Six courses for dinner including local specialities Luke yuba and salmon from lake chuzenji.
The room was very clean and comfortable and the private hot bath was amazing!
They didn't speak much English there but were really friendly and helpful.
It is quite far from the station and you need a car or to use their pick-up service.
I'll definitely go back on my next trip to nikko.

If we go back to Nikko,One More Time again please!

Birds chirping
Bathe with trees in the windows swaying gently
Cool weather at this time of year
Staff attentive to your needs
Delicious food for breakfast and dinner
Worth every yen
We didn't need the bus
The pick-up service was so good!
We stayed three nights
We wished,we wished,we could have stayed longer....
