An amazing place to say with exceptional hospitality
First of all the location is brilliant if you want to unwind from busy cities like Tokyo. it is Japan's countryside at its best.
The accommodation is huge. With a big lounge and a kitchen with everything for you to cook. The rooms are traditional rooms which means you will sleep on a futon, it was comfortable, even for a tall European like me. The rooms are humbly decorated and spacious. The only thing to mention is the acoustic between rooms.
Overall the place was clean and it was the same for the toilet and bathroom.
The wifi worked perfectly in the room, the lounge, and in front of the house.
It is worth mentioning that the house is a traditional "old" house with a lot of charm. It is really picturesque and cosy.
The place is really quiet which is quite enjoyable.
You are provided with free bicycles to wander around which is great. You have shops at walking distance (20minutes for the nearest 7 eleven). You also have delicious restaurants near by.
Concerning the pottery studio and classes, it was amazing. The owner and all the staff were super friendly and chill. Really helpful and patient. Big thank you for them and making my stay so enjoyable.
Mashiko is usually a place you visit if you have an interest in pottery. Even without that, if you are just looking for a place to escape the craziness of Tokyo i would recommend a few days in Furuki.
5 Stars for me

Real, working pottery studio.
The farmhouse is comprised of a bunch of large rooms where you can create smaller room with shoji doors. Please keep in mind that these doors are made of wood and paper, so be courteous to your fellow travelers and keep the noise down. There is a kotatsu in the room and a small heater - but still cold at the end of January. There are plenty of futons and blankets to bundle up in to get comfortable. The toilet and baths are shared, but separated by gender.
We opted for breakfast. I totally recommend you do the same. The owner of the property is a sweet and genuine lady. She prepared a beautiful meal of onigiri, vegis, tsukemono and miso soup. Everything was absolutely delicious! We all had seconds on the miso soups because it was so great!
Try out a pottery class. Very informative and fun. Pick your own clay and choice of glaze. You can even have your own creations mailed home to you after firing is finished!

陶芸体験が楽しめる民宿
陶芸体験とセットのプランで申込ました。
宿泊した翌日の午前中三時間電動の轆轤で陶芸を体験しました。初心者でしたが親切に教えてもらいなんとか作る事ができました。
