The room that had been arranged for me had a horrendous smell upon arrival. I asked the bell desk staff that arrange for an air freshener spray so that I can get rid of the smell. However, the staff seemed very unwilling and told me that all Hilton hotel rooms smell like that. Afterwards, I asked if there was another room available and he told me that that room was the only one left and told me that there was no air freshener spray available. He later came with a spray that supposedly could help get rid of the smell but was pretty useless. Disappointed that Hilton has this level of service when it comes to bad smell in hotel rooms.

First time in Okinawa and this hotel. Had the best trip!! Thank you to your wonderful staff! Will definitely be coming back

Outstanding hotel staff members
We happened to be visiting Japan during an early season flu epidemic that is growing with each day. Despite my son and I being current on our vaccines, I was diagnosed with Influenza A using a home test kit I had brought with me. The hotel front desk staff member whose name I did not write down, was wonderful, kind and generous to ask me what the hotel might be able to offer to make my illness less uncomfortable. Did I need to have her call an ambulance (no), did I need more water or any other item delivered to the room (yes) or was there any other request I needed to make of the hotel? She apologized that the hotel did not have access to a medical provider, but she helped me find a phone number for a local medical facility so I could call for a same day appointment. She also said she would be happy to call a cab for me when I was ready to go to the medical facility. At the desk after my appt, she gave me a fever pack to place on my forehead. Since the hotel was sold out after our 3-day stay, I had to move to another hotel in Naha since we had to cancel our travel plans to Ishigaki Island. The staff member allowed us to stay an extra hour after checkout and also called a taxi for us when we departed. In addition, she walked us out to the cab and opened the door to the cab for me. We had an excellent experience at this hotel - hotel staff members, the rooms, level of comfort, ocean view with balcony, breakfast buffet, access to other hotel amenities and location. But the kind and supportive care I received during my illness by this staff member really made all the difference in making my visit to Japan a special one. Thank you to the Doubletree by Hilton chain of hotels for employing staff that are very compassionate and supportive of your guests.

The hotel is very nice and the staff has outstanding customer service. My only gripe is that is regarding the alleged amenities and the fact they are not all on the property at the Doubletree Hotel. You have to walk to the Hilton, which is sort of close but also far when you expected all amenities to be at the property. Specifically, the wellness center/spa, fitness facilities, indoor pool, and spa are NOT at the Doubletree. The walk to the Hilton is approximately 1-2 blocks because you have to walk around to the front of the hotel. The wellness center is phenomenal and worth the money, but I did not like the misleading advertising on the Expedia page.

Amazing hotel, staff, breakfast and location. Absolutely loved our stay. This was our first time to Okinawa and we will definitely be back.
