Expérience inoubliable au Japon

C'était la première fois que je séjournais dans un Onsen. Le personnel était très modeste. La nourriture était inoubliable. Le dîner était très spécial et le petit déjeuner était plus au-dessus de nos attentes. Le plus grand atout pour moi était un onsen dans la chambre !!! L'endroit était propre et assez récent. Ça valait le prix que j'ai payé pour, et je vous le recommande si vous êtes de Beppu.

Fantastic Service from Kin Ho

We visited Nagomitsuki in Beppu last night for the “one shot two meals” (一拍兩食) dinner experience, and while the food was delicious and beautifully presented as expected from a high-end Japanese kaiseki-style spot, what really made the night special was the incredible service from our server, Kin Ho.
Kin Ho speaks fluent Chinese (a huge plus for us as non-Japanese speakers), but more importantly, he has that rare combination of genuine warmth, professionalism, and super attentiveness that makes you feel like a valued guest rather than just another table. From the moment we sat down, he was proactive—explaining the course progression in detail, suggesting how to enjoy each dish, refilling our water and tea without us even asking, clearing plates smoothly, and always checking in with a bright smile and kind words. When we had a small question about one of the ingredients, he patiently answered and even brought over a little extra info to enhance our understanding.
His energy never dropped throughout the entire meal, which lasted quite a while with multiple courses, and he made everything feel effortless and enjoyable.
In a place where the setting and food are already top-notch, having someone like Kin Ho elevates the whole experience to another level—it felt personal, caring, and truly memorable.
If you’re planning a visit to Nagomitsuki (or Wazuki/和之月 area), do request Kin Ho if possible; he’s outstanding and deserves all the recognition. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Beppu, and we’ll be hoping to sit in his section again!

Beautiful.

We booked the room with the private onsen, breakfast, and dinner. For dinner, a young man named Kim attended to us. He was very kind and explained everything very well. Breakfast and dinner were delicious, served fresh. The in-room onsen was top-notch. I would gladly do it again.

5 star food and service, 4 star room

This ryokan is a true hidden gem for those loving quiet locations, immaculate service and gourmet foods. We took the half board package which was worth every yen; a 2 hour plated dinner service with local specialties and a yummy plated breakfast service. Japanese on day 1, western on day 2.
The room had its private onsen with 24/7 flowing fresh hot spring water, a small bathroom and separate toilet. The only downside was that the bed was a mattress on the floor, making it slightly difficult for our tall western bodies to get in and out of bed. Staff however switched the room immediately when we debated if we would fit in the queen whereas we had requested a twin bed.

A little gem located at the outskirt of Beppu, Fukuoka.

This is a small boutique hotel with only around 11 rooms. If you’re looking for a good experience of onsen and Japanese cuisine in Beppu, this is the place. There’s a private onsen in our rooms, which is very convenient and heavenly during the cold winter. Choose the meals package to enjoy delicious and elaborate Japanese cuisine. The Kaiseki dinner was very good and we all enjoyed it very much. Breakfast too was specially prepared and served in set. The draw back of this hotel is a lack of staff and some staff do not speak much English, so difficult to communicate at times. Also, no staff to help with the luggages. Other than that, the staff were friendly and helpful.
