★☆☆☆☆ Extremely Disappointing Experience — Misleading and Poorly Managed
On the positive side, the location is truly amazing. The room itself was also quiet, clean, very spacious, and comfortable. Physically, the property has a lot going for it. Note for travelers: the hotel is on the third floor with no elevator, which may be important for those with heavy luggage or mobility concerns.
However, the reality of the stay did not match what was advertised at all. Their website clearly describes La Rosa dei Venti as a bed and breakfast with a “rich buffet-style breakfast” and attentive guest service. This was simply not true in our experience. It is not a functioning B&B in any meaningful sense. When we went looking for breakfast, we were told by a cleaning staff member that breakfast has not been served in years. Years. This alone was extremely misleading.
There is also essentially no on-site staff. We received an email the day of arrival with a code and instructions for where to find our key. Throughout our two-night stay, we never saw a single staff member aside from one cleaning person. There is no front desk presence, which made the entire experience feel impersonal and unsupported.
The most serious issue was that we had no hot water at all during our entire stay. The water was ice cold the entire time, making it impossible to shower or even wash our face. It was not just inconvenient—it was completely unusable. We called the provided phone number the night we arrived and were told nothing could be done because it was late. The next day, after multiple attempts to reach someone, we were told someone would come the following day—our departure day. The issue was finally addressed about 30 minutes before we checked out, which meant we never actually got to use hot water during our stay.
After checkout, we were told we would receive a partial refund and that the situation would be “made right.” Unfortunately, despite repeated attempts to follow up, we have been completely ignored and have received no response to calls or emails. We were effectively ghosted after the stay, with the excuse later given that it was the weekend.
This property could be wonderful because the physical space and location are strong, but the lack of basic services, misleading advertising, and poor follow-through from management made this an extremely frustrating experience. Based on our stay, we would not recommend it.
