Good value, great location.

We stayed here as a family of five (3 kids under 6). We chose it due to the outdoor garden area, fair price and location (only two stops on boat to San Marco).
The host Dino was lovely and the place was Venetian in style and practicality. The use of the shared kitchen worked well and had everything we needed to make breakfast and dinner. The place was very clean and homely. It had a few quirks by being such an old building like the ancient fidly keys locks, narrow stairs and some doors and very low ceiling on the top bedroom floor (watch your head)! Would stay again. Thanks for having us!

A hidden gem

We loved staying in this self-catering apartment house, next to the Zitelle church at the east end of Giudecca island. There are three apartments, at least two of which share a kitchen. We stayed in the smallest, called Il Gelsomino, which has just one bedroom. However, the neighbouring apartment was unoccupied when we were there, so we had the kitchen to ourselves, although we only used it for breakfast.
Approached though a lovely garden, this is a traditional Venetian house, with antique furniture and a good modern bathroom. The double bed is large and comfortable. The price is extremely reasonable, and the place is wonderfully peaceful. Giudecca is a great place to stay, as it is so close to the historic centre, and yet largely free of the hoards of tourists who swarm over the rest of the city. Just make sure you get a vaporetto pass - you'll be using them a lot!

Lovely stay in a great location

We chose to stay off the main island as we were visiting during carnival season and we are pleased we did. It was only 2 stops from St Marks Square by vaparetto so very accessible. Our host was lovely, the room was clean and comfortable. Would recommend.

Great quiet, inexpensive spot away from the crowds!

We needed to be on Giudecca for a wedding and were glad to discover this cheap alternative. This is steps from the Cipriani and the Bauer but quiet and secluded and a fraction of the cost. Our hosts were very kind and left us to do our own thing. The breakfast isn't much to speak of.
