Weekend in Sperlonga

Friendliness, cleanliness, excellent food, comfortable rooms... what more could one desire from a hotel? This is what we found in Sperlonga at the Ganimede hotel. We will definitely return as soon as possible.

Romantic dinner

Good evening, we finished eating at the hotel restaurant and were immediately welcomed with smiles and kindness from the staff. The fish menu is available, but there are alternatives for those who do not prefer it. The fried calamari as an appetizer were fresh, and the oil was practically nonexistent. The catch of the day, a sole, was cooked to perfection with potatoes. And what can I say about the tiramisu, made on the spot, freshly and with vegetable cream. We absolutely recommend it even just for a romantic dinner.

It could have been so nice

A super hotel with a short walk from the beach and town. We had a ground floor room which was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly. The breakfast dining area was ok as was the breakfast. Food already prepared, laid out, not very warm and the same very day. In front of the dining area there is a small area for sun beds beside the pool. So what could go wrong. 4 days into our holiday a party of excited school kids turned up, noisy and out of control. I had to ask reception to get hold of the teachers and get the kids under control. The second night, the teachers took the kids into town at 9pm !! and we had a similar situation on their return. On our last day we decided to sit by the pool which is at the front of the dining area. Unfortunately there was a function and tables were being set up right beside where we were lying. We called it a day.

Negative

The only positive note is the cleanliness of the rooms, even though my bedroom was full of ants. I brought it to the attention of the cleaning lady, who took care of it immediately. Unfortunately, on the second day, I had the bathroom full of ants again. But the real negative point is the restaurant service, especially at breakfast, which is very poor. On the first day, there were only 4 tables, everything was fine, but on the second day, when there were a few more people in the restaurant, the buffet looked like Baghdad. Basically, the displayed dishes were finished, and no one replenished the buffet, with tables full of dirty plates and no one clearing them away. Around 9:30, something was added with the arrival of another person, but by then it was too late; almost everyone had left. That same day, I stayed by the pool and ordered a bottle of wine and two plates of bruschetta around 1:00 PM. The negative thing is that once we were served, we didn't see anyone again; they took our plates away at 4:30 PM. An unpleasant thing on the third day was that the hotel has a private parking lot and garage where I parked my scooter. They moved it about 10 meters, forcing it with the steering lock closed. I brought it to the attention of the management, who washed their hands of it, claiming that they knew nothing and that there are signs stating that they basically wash their hands in case of damage. Well, there are also signs indicating video surveillance and cameras. I asked to review the videos: the response was that the cameras do not work. In conclusion, the hotel is beautiful and clean, but everything else is to be forgotten, especially the restaurant service, not even in the worst dives.
I WANT TO REMIND YOU THAT YOU POSITION YOURSELF AS A 4-STAR HOTEL, BUT YOU ARE VERY FAR FROM THIS CATEGORY.
P.S. On the first day, everyone was very kind, but after I pointed out the various shortcomings, I was barely greeted.
HIGHLY DISCOURAGED.

Beautiful week of relaxation

Hotel a few steps from the sea with clean rooms and staff available for every need. Good breakfast and dinner served under a nice veranda.
